I bought this to replace another bell used to hide an air tag. Let me first tell you about the bell I replaced: I had the other bell for less than a year. When I had to replace the air tag's battery, I had to remove and disassemble the bell to do it. Once I reassembled the older bell, the bell did not work anymore. It simply "thudded" whenever it was struck. I worked it through numerous times, trying to loosen the cap for a better vibration. Nothing worked. Now, for THIS bell: It was easy to disassemble the bell to place, then hide the air tag. Very straightforward. Once I mounted it, the bell worked great and I was able to locate the air tag on my phone: everything worked as it should. I then unmounted and took the air tag out. I reassembled the bell, re-mounted it, and again, everything worked perfectly! This tells me that I will be able to remove the air tag in the future and the bell will continue to work as it should. I put this on my son's bike as he uses it for transportation and I have concerns it will get stolen. So far it has worked as expected. The AirTag is detectable while inside the bell enclosure but you wouldn't know it's there. I hope we don't need to test this out, but it does a good job of holding and hiding the AirTag. As to it being a bell, it's ok. The striker is on a spring and I could see that getting thrashed easily. It has a decent tone and will be fine for most trail riding, but it isn't loud and I wouldn't want to rely on the bell for safety in a city setting. So far, it looks good and it works as expected. This Bell saved my bike! I ordered this last year and put it, along with an AirTag on my new ebike. I actually forgot all about it it worked so well. Last week my ebike was stolen...I was devastated. When I remembered I had an AirTag on my bike. It was tracking for about an hour and then just stopped, and I was worried the thief found it and remove it. I (I actually forgot it was installed in the bell, I thought I stuck it under the seat). A few days later, it started being tracked again, and along with my local PD we found it hidden on the property, and only found it because we could make the AirTag make noise. They had removed other items on the bike, but totally ignored the bell (thankfully!). I still feel very lucky they didn't suspect the bell, and I am very happy with this purchase! The airbell is a nice way to have a bell and hide and airtag but my bike fell over once and the top, ringer, popped off. Not as durable as I expected. Read more
The positives about this bell is it’s the right size doesn’t take up too much room on your handlebar. The sound is plenty loud. The AirTag fits perfectly. This is something I should’ve bought a long time ago as it’s a great place to put your AirTag if your bike is lost or stolen. Customer Service was also awesome and very responsive. Apparently they’re from London and they’re super quick and nice to help you out with any of your needs. I love this lil idea to hide and AirTag inside the bell. I got this and it was really easy to install. Just a quick note, make sure you FULLY setup the AirTag with your phone before you put it inside the bell. If not, it’ll have a hard time trying to find the AirTag. I thought I set it up before putting it inside and someone called and it interrupted the process and it never paired so I noticed this while I was already out in town and didn’t have the tool with me to open the bell so I had to hold my phone very close to the bell for a while using different angles to finally get it to pair.
