Great Product!

This is a great product if you have a pond with ducks or geese who refuse to go back into the water because they don't want to swim in their poo any more. Lol!! Follow the instructions on the package. It takes weeks for to work. We can already see a big difference in the pond. It is clearing up nicely. It just takes time. So in the mean time, go get a wading pool and fill it with clean water for your ducks and geese. It won't hurt them to wait it out. It beats draining out the pool, getting a shovel; scooping the carp out of the pond and then refilling it. It's a bit expensive but well worth it. If ya got fish in there like us; they will be ok, and they will be thankful they can see a lot better. 🙂 Get it! Update: On the coldest day of the year, (and yes snow in south TX) our silly ducks decided it was safe to swim and play in the pond again as you can see in the picture. Of course, the weather knocked out our banana trees but they will be back in the spring. So yes this stuff works. It's just a bit expensive. Just get it. It really works. Read more

It’s really working well

Be patient. My large pond water had very poor visibility to the bottom due to muck being disturbed by my Koi fish. Over 1 foot of Muck average. While it’s still a work in progress, it is starting to clear from the edges to the middle. Every week I see improvements. Read more

Works, but there are things to keep in mind!

I purchased this product as a desperate hope it could help my pasture pond, which was absolutely choked with algae from a dead tree we couldn't get removed for weeks due to the ground being too saturated. The first dose, thrown into the mucky pond, did absolutely nothing, which was very disappointing to me. However, then we got another rain burst that flooded the pond and washed about 80% of the algae downstream. So with the intent to do the "aggressive" treatment (i.e. throwing in treatment every two weeks), I added in the next recommended dose to the remaining 20% of algae still floating around the pond. Three days later, the change is dramatic. About 5% of it is gone completely, and the rest is starting to die. So I eagerly anticipate what another month of treatment will do to the health of my pond. In all, anybody looking to use this product needs to keep these two important things in mind: it will NOT help a pond that is choked or otherwise drowning with algae. For that, your only recourse is probably physical removal of said growth, or being lucky like me and getting a well-timed flood. Secondly, temperature is probably another factor that is dramatically improving the performance of the second dose. The first dose was thrown in while temps were still relatively cool (low 70's), but within a few weeks our temps around here have spiked to high 80's and humid. This stuff definitely starts cranking when the temps start to rise. I'll update again in a month (two more doses), but if the last three days is any indication, I anticipate a pond completely clear of algae growth by then. And that will make me a VERY happy customer, and perfectly willing to continue purchasing this product despite its higher price. *Several months and a summer's worth of treatment later*: Our pond experienced a massive drought, which really dropped the water level and stagnated things. However, through it all, the water (that was left) never fouled with algae growth. I have maintained treatment every two weeks, and I think had I not the pit would have become a stinking sump. WILL definitely be purchasing again next year. Read more

It definitely works, but slowly. Don't expect results overnight

The good! This stuff does eat the muck. As the muck has a lot to do with the algae, that is good, as the algae was taking over. Must definitely use along with dye to block the sunlight as the algae needs the sunlight to thrive. The Bad! The price is hefty. We have a ten acre lake and $350 per application hurts. Especially when recommended to install every couple of weeks for the first few months and monthly thereafter. But, it does work with dye, but slowly. In cold climates, below 50 degrees water temp, it will hibernate during the winter so you will not see results during the cold spells. Keep in mind, if you shock the lake to kill the algae, you also kill the good bacteria that eat the muck. Do not let a pond management firm recommend shocking your lake unless the algae has completely taken over. These companies just make more money putting the good algae back later, at your expense. We only tested Airmax Muckaway and are very satisfied. Read more

Slowly thinning out the muck

It is working slowly and steadily. The silty muck is thinning out in the area we have been applying the Muck Away. Has not affected the plants or fish. This is not a quick result product - but we see a sand bottom in spots after using this product for three months Read more
