Akebono Brake Pad Set

I brought this front brake pads because these pads are made of ceramic and ceramic last longer and stop good when hot and also because of the other peoples reviews that I had read about them, so far I found sure secure high speed stops, no noise, and very very low dust. 400 miles on them now and have the same noise as mile 1. I broke them in very gently and I have an 6speed man with exhaust brake. Going to give 4 stars only because Im not sure what is causing squeaking. Definatly have great stopping power. Arrived on time. Read more

I put a set of these on my Dodge Megacab. I have 35" tires with chrome wheels and was so sick of constantly having to clean the wheels every couple of days. These pads produce little to no dust. I can not tell a difference in the stopping power compared to the $120 ceramic pads I had before but they are definitely better than the stock pads. I had these on a 2008 Dodge Ram 3500 dually 4WD with 22.5 wheels which adds a lot of rolling resistance and increased braking stress. The first set replaced the stock Mopars and I immediately noticed better stopping than when the truck was new with stock 17" wheels. Unfortunately, when these finally wore out, I was in a pinch and due to bad timing on my part, I replaced them with Wagner Thermoquiet Ceramics. HUGE mistake. I immediately noticed how soft the braking was. I even bled the brakes and put in new fluid with no noticeable difference. The Wagners just didn't have the bite that the Akebono Ceramics do. Now it's time to replace the fronts again and, frankly, I'm glad so I can put the Akebonos back on. Read more
