I use this soap as shampoo and I love it. It takes more than I'd like it to in order to get a good lather, but it works well with my hair. Gets it nice and clean. It lasts a long time too, so it's a good value for my money. Read more
I have very sensitive skin and this soap doesn’t bother me at all. It definitely cleans you. Best used with exfoliating gloves. I swore by Dr Bronners but after it dried my skin out, i switched to this and I’ve been here ever since. My skins moisture level has increased, the texture of the liquid soap looks like liquid silk. No weird residues or smells. Even works well in intimate areas. I definitely recommend. I was diagnosed with CARP, and this soap is perfect for everyday use. Especially those of you that have eczema and other skin conditions. Try it out. (I’m black btw if that matters lol) Read more
Gave 4 stars only because one of the bottle tops came cracked but luckily the extra seal kept anything from wasting out. I love the smell of this soap and how gentle it is on my skin great for many uses and keeps my skin cleaner than any other soap I’ve used Read more

I've been using this for years now. The 2 pack lasts me about a year. My skin is so soft, glowing and basically blemish free. My go to for life ❤️❤️ Read more
1st I like African Black Soap and I like Alaffa. I will continue to buy from them BUT, I do not need or want to buy 1/2 gallon of the stuff at one time. Buying 2 qts was the only option I could find for the version I wanted. I stopped buying from Amazon for this reason when my local store sold 16 oz containers but they have stopped so I bought from Amazon. Read more
I've been using the peppermint version of this soap for a few years now. I like how it feels, it has a mild scent, and it doesn't irritate my skin or dry it out. I have had a hard time finding soaps that meet those criteria (especially the scent: I don't like strong smells), so I've been sticking with this one. It takes a bit more soap to clean my whole body than other soaps, but I always thought it was worth it for the quality. However, I have had a consistent problem with the bottles arriving with the cap lid cracked or, in the case of the one that just came today, completely broken. There is no seal under the cap and the lid is very thin and fragile. The cracks in the lid are always similar to those shown in the pictures. These usually ship to me from an Amazon warehouse, so the poor packing for shipping that allows the fragile cap to crack is on them, but the bottle cap being fragile in the first place is on the manufacturer. I'm assuming the manufacturer knows that this packaging isn't up to snuff, because the bottles I've gotten in the past year or so have all had tape attached from the lid to the bottle to keep them closed during shipping. This usually keeps leakage to a minimum. Usually... Having to wash a puddle of soap off of my porch and now needing to clean up this mess of a container so I can take it to UPS for return is the final straw for me. When this stuff gets bottled with a cap that can survive shipping better, I'll be interested in buying it again. Until then, I've found a bar soap that I like well enough. (I didn't post the picture of the soap puddle on the porch because the shipping label was visible. My bad. It was quite the sight. Also: this box was packed with the bottle on the bottom, as shown, with a strip of those air pillows on top to fill the space. There was no cushioning between the product and the bottom of the shipping box.) Read more

I have been buying Castile Soap mostly since getting rid of most of the chemicals in my home, but I don't like how thin Castile Soap is. I've figure out ways to thicken the Castile Soap, but after a day or two, the soap would lose it's lather and I like a nice rich lather. I know that you don't "need" a lather to be clean, but for me to "feel" clean, I gotta have my lather. This soap has it ALL! It's all natural, it has a great lather, and it's nice and thick! PLUS, the scent is essential oils, not fragrance oils! Yay! What more could you ask for? You don't feel dry after using this, which Castile Soap has a tendency to do, and it's the only thing I've been able to use on my 4 year old's extremely sensitive EVERYTHING (skin and lungs) and her not have a reaction from it because the scent is either overpowering and causes her R.A.D (Reactive Airway Disease) to act up, or the soap is too drying and causes her eczema to flare up, and because she's so fair skinned (she's so white you can see her veins through her skin) her doctor says she's going to have extremely sensitive skin her whole life, just because she's so fair, and then having the R.A.D, it's common to have eczema with that, so it's a double whammy for her. This is a miracle in a bottle to me! I literally have to doctor up or water down EVERY SINGLE THING I have ever used on her in the bath because she's so sensitive to any kinds of perfumes in anything, her lungs used to collapse several times a year, I couldn't even use regular baby wash on her as a baby because it had a strong scent in it and it would throw her in the hospital in a second. Since getting rid of most of the chemicals in our home almost a year ago, we haven't had a single problem **knocks on wood** but we would still have problems with the eczema and finding something that worked for her skin. I think I have finally found it folks! If you suffer from skin problems, or you are like me and like to use all natural products, and liquid soap, but think Castile Soap is too thin, just try this soap, and I guarantee you'll use the Castile strictly for household cleaning, and make this your new body wash! I'll be checking out their other products, I am impressed! I have to make my own lotion to use on her, and if you've ever made lotion before, you know that if you mess one tiny thing up and don't get your oil and water emulsion right, your whole batch is messed up, and that can be quite pricey. With the results I've seen with this soap, I would be over the moon to see the same results with their lotion for her skin ( I think they make lotion too, I'll have to double check). Best of luck folks! You really can't go wrong with this one! Pics to follow soon... Read more
