So much nicer than the competitor listings with 1000s of reviews...
I was in search of coat for our upcoming ski trip but didn't want to spend 100s of $$. I don't normally wear really warm coats and didn't want something I'd only wear a couple of times. The things I wanted included: waterproof, tough zippers, warm but not sauna-inducing warm, and well-built so I'm not busting seams on the slopes. There seemed to be a lot of options around the $50-$75 price point. Ironically, I passed on this coat at first b/c it only had 11 reviews at the time. I went with one with nearly 10k reviews, but looking back I should have known better. It was one of those where you see 3-4 other listings under different brand names. Those usually don't pan out well... Sure enough that initial coat wasn't sized well, was ridiculously warm (not breathable at all), and the quality of the zippers and seams was questionable. I returned that one and gave this coat a 2nd look. It seemed to check all my boxes. Upon closer inspection I was excited about the vents under the armpits to help it breathe, the warm but not too warm lining, and a snow skirt on the waistline. The coat just arrived today, and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. It fits beautifully, is very well made, and has more features to it than coats priced over $150. I'm confident that I'll be able to stay warm and dry but also not sweat on the slopes here in a couple of weeks!
