ALPS Mountaineering Sleeping Bag Liner

I got this originally to pair with my sleeping bag to add a little extra layer in the colder camp outings. I primarily have used it will camping in Louisiana - if you weren't sure it's pretty gross weather there. It provided the perfect lightweight layer on its own, when the nights happen to be a little cooler. I was hesitant to purchase this originally due to some of the negative reviews. But you get exactly what is advertised. Lightweight liner, it's basically a sheet material. It's not meant to be a down comforter. The quality is excellent, and cleaned well in the washer. My only wish is that it had a larger slit in the liner. Or a different mechanism to keep it closed - such as a smaller zipper or even Velcro. You do have to shimmy into it slightly which can be difficult depending on the other layers you are working with. Read more

Warm and cozy. Bought this to address a ~10° shortfall experienced with my sleeping bag. I couldn't quite figure how a thin sheet would make much of a difference in heat retention, but a friend convinced me to take the risk. Turns out it sure does the trick! Not sure about this purchase. Some reason I thought the mummy version would open along the side. But this is basically a big sock. You climb in to this thing. It’s soft for sure. Has a decent amount of room. Biggest issue is only one way to get into it. Read more

It's what I expected it to be, either a thin sleeping bag that can be used on its own or a liner to be used inside a thicker sleeping bag. It feels like bed sheets stitched together to form a sleeping bag. Read more

I was hoping this would provide a bit of extra warmth when using with my sleeping bag, however upon receiving it became clear that this would not provide any additional insulation whatsoever, just act as a barrier between my body & the bag. Imagine if you took the top sheet off of your bed & sewed it into the shape of a sleeping bag - that's essentially what this is. This could be what some people are looking for, but not me, so I returned it in exchange for a sea to summit thermolite liner. Read more
