Great for the price
For this price point, this is a killer bar. The knurling is clean, aggressive enough that it has a good feel, not so aggressive that it’ll chew your hands up. No bells or whistles, there’s no bearings or anything in the end caps, it’s just steel over steel but the finish is polished enough that they spin freely. I took the end caps off and added an additional washer onto each hex screw to prevent it from rattling as much (there’s some play in the endcaps otherwise that allow them to move about 1/4-3/8”ish in the direction of the length of the bar). Since there’s no bushing or bearing inside, I also added a bit of lithium grease with a touch of anti seize inside the end caps to just allow for a smoother and quieter motion while also preventing corrosion. Lastly, a tiny drop of locktite on the screws before re assembling. My only complaint (again though for the price I don’t think lowers its rating) is the caps are a little short. You have about 7” for plates. Read more
