decent price for what you get, however, this is not a firm mat and gives way to any pressure whatsoever. i thought it might be because of my weight, however, my boyfriend who is a lot lighter than i am stepped on it and in seconds it compressed so flat he could feel the wood floor and he was astounded. please be aware of this before you buy. this makes it rather painful for my knees and elbows when trying to do any sort of yoga or stretching. I've been using the loaner yoga mats at my gym for quite some time. This yoga mat seems very similar to the gym mats, except it was slightly thicker, much softer, and didn't smell like other peoples' body odor! There are two reasons I'm giving this three stars instead of five: 1. The purple color was quite different from the original listing, and the color was almost the sole reason I purchased this specific yoga mat. The listing made the purple color look as if it was a Jam/Boysenberry/Mulberry (see attached picture for color reference); however, what I received was a Purple/Violet. 2. The strap that is included is difficult to use. It's super easy to attach to the mat, but it slides all over the place and makes it difficult to carry as a result. 3. The mat compacts very easily and ends up being very, very thin (I'm 115lbs, so weight isn't the issue), and takes quite a while to pop back up. This was making it a little uncomfortable for my knees during certain yoga poses. The mat is very soft and pliable, so I'm guessing this is why (if the mat were harder/more stiff, it wouldn't compact so easily, but then it wouldn't be as soft and comfy, so it's a trade-off). Bottom-line: The quality of the mat was better than I expected for the low price-point, and I'm pleased with this purchase overall. I would definitely recommend this mat for someone who has budget in mind, and someone who doesn't necessarily mind if the color is slightly different from the pictures on the listing. The media could not be loaded. I do a lot of acro yoga in the park and needed a mat that I could take with me easily that wasn't going to cost me an arm and a leg. This mat does the job! It's pretty sturdy so far and cleans easily with a disinfectant wipe. Lightweight and non slippery as well. I had a baby 9 months ago & have recently started working on getting my pre-baby body back. I took up yoga at home as a way to relax & get back in shape. We have hardwood floors in our house so the first few times we're a little rough to say the least. I ordered this mat to help make my sessions more comfortable. I bought this mat because I needed a mat that I would not get my feet stuck on but was still not slippery. It looked similar to a Gaiam mat. I liked the thick Amazon Basic mat that I purchased. But it was rather slippery. This mat started chipping off right away. When I wiped it clean with mat cleaner, it started disintegrating. My Amazon Basic thick Mat is still holding up fine after a year and a half but this mat just didn't cut it. Read more
