The Amazon Echo Dot Max delivers surprisingly full, rich sound for its size, easily filling a room without distortion. Vocals are clear, bass is punchy, and it works great for music, podcasts, and everyday listening. Alexa is responsive and accurate, making voice commands feel natural and effortless. The built-in smart home hub is a big plus, simplifying control of lights, plugs, and other devices without extra hardware. The graphite finish looks sleek and blends nicely into any space. Setup is straightforward, and the added Alexa+ early access features bring even more functionality. Overall, this is a well-rounded smart speaker that combines strong audio performance with practical smart home convenience, offering excellent value for anyone already invested in the Alexa ecosystem or just getting started. I love the Dot Max. Especially, the different colors are nice👌🏽. I got the purple 🟣 one. It sounds crystal 🔮 clear. It fits perfectly in a certain spot next to my Bed 🛏️. I wish 🙏🏽 this one had the time like the others, but it's ok. I know it's coming, 😆. The features are even better. I like that you can setup easier and the buttons are on the front instead of the top. The cost is not bad at all. It works well with the Alexa+. She's faster than ever and her response is even better. She talks to you like a real person does, wow 😳. You're going to love this Dot Max and I highly recommend it. I might get another one 😜. Nice replacement for my Echo Spot, which is not Alexa+ compatible. I got it with a trade in on the Spot, and saved a nice amount of money. Unlike the spot, this doesn't have a screen, which is in the product description. I am glad about the colour, because I can't stand black for any product any more. It is almost 2026, so let's stop with all the black products. This is not the early 1900's where the only colour the Model-T came in was black! I am glad for the variety of colours, but I would have liked a bright pink so it would be easier to see. It has much better sound than the echo Dot 2nd generation had. For space saving design, I wish Amazon would bring back the "Hockey Puck" version of the Echo Dot 2nd Generation, which was wall mountable with an add on bracket and was nice for sticking an Echo Dot 2nd Gen (not the Dot Max) in a tight space, with no table surface. I still like the Echo Dot 2nd gen for tight spaces and flush wall mounting where it is used for function rather than music fidelity. Read more

Purchased this to replace a 1st generation echo spot which is not compatible with new Alexa+ format. It worked fine, but never had great sound like many of the echo devices do. I have multiple echo devices including several 1st generation shows, echo 15, echo 5, echo 8, echo dots and echo studio. The 1st generation shows (which still work great but are not Alexa+ compatible), the echo 8 and echo studio speakers have exceptionally good sound quality. The echo 15 sadly does not which is a bummer considering the price and otherwise beautiful screen. The dots are hit or miss. I have one in the garage that sounds wonderful, but others sound like an inexpensive bluetooth speaker. So far, this Echo Dox Max is good, but not great. I haven't used it solely for listening to music or as a part of a speaker group which is where I really like having multiple echo devices. I've been listening to audiobooks and today show radio on SiriusXM and the sound is ok, nothing to brag about. In my opinion it is nowhere near as good as the Echo studio, but it's a lot more affordable. I had the first generation Echo speaker (tall cylinder) and it was an amazing speaker that rivalled Bose/Sonos. The newer studio speakers are also very good sound wise but look so similar to the dot they are hard to distinguish. The Echo Dot Max came connected to my house setup which is nice. It's plug and play. Read more

I wanted to love this speaker but noticed a signficant drop in volume and sound stage, this replaced an Echo 1st Gen tower speaker. I thought that for the price this unit would have sufficiently upgraded hardware to be able to perform near to the tower speaker which from what I have seen none of the newer gen speakers equal. The only reason I replaced is that speaker was just showing the blue ring all the time. The quality is acceptable for a small room but certainly not great for family room or even a master bedroom. The one thing I like is the size, this one looks great and has descent audio but certainly not enough volume and sound stage for the price increase from the older spherical dot models. I have several of those and really like them for small spaces. We wanted an unobtrusive speaker for bedroom use without using a show or one of the newer screen style units that have fairly good audio, I have one of those in kitchen and it has been great. As for this Dot Max, for me its just ok and the audio performance doesnt match the price vs the younger sibling models. To date none of the dots or Echos has matched the quality, volume, sound stage and mic array functionality of the 1st gen Echos. That is a bummer as I had hoped this max could deliver in a smaller footprint. Read more
