What am I reviewing? Amazon Essentials’ Toddler Girls' Uniform, Pique Polo Shirt (100%) cotton knit dress. Immediate thoughts? A designer like high-end, affordable, children’s polo. Giftable? Yes, although it did arrive in an Amazon branded tape sealed, semi-retail like, clear, somewhat informative plastic bag typically found with new clothing. [I appreciate the bag was at least sealed, as I then do “not” have to question the integrity of the product from factory to me.] Weight of outfit? The outfit weighed in at about (120) grams, which is (4.2) ounces, which is a tad heavier, by about (20%) than expected, on average, these types of polos weigh in at about (3.5) ounces. So, this gives an idea what kind of weather these can be worn in. Chest pocket? No, which was expected, rarely, if ever, are pockets on a girl’s polo. Tagless label at neck? Yes, which I appreciate. Labels sewn near the hem too? Yes, which describes the material, etc. Buttons? Yes, plus an extra sewn into a label near the hem, they look like small blue pearls, standard sized, but easy to use. Transparency APP? Some clothing lines provide a QR code to scan with the “Transparency App.” There “was” a QR code here that I could scan, which is appreciated, as such provided additional information, including marketing information, surrounding the item, and to verify its authenticity and other product information. Really an authentic Amazon Essentials Polo? Absolutely. Color? The coloring is a quiet, classic light/powder blue. The listing’s photos looked reasonable to the color I received. I noticed I noticed what a positive difference a 100% Pique cotton fabric feels like. It’s a conservative color, super soft, and airy, but has a tad bit of weight, which I wanted. What is Pique? Pique fabric features a honeycomb or waffle weave, giving it texture and visual appeal. This knit is more breathable and structured than other soft knits. Fit & Finish The fit and finish were flawless, with neatly crocheted edges. I didn't need to size up, and the color matched the listing. The seams are tight with no loose threads, and the crochet work exceeded my expectations. Hangtag? The outfit [dress] does have a semi-heavy-duty small hangtag, which I appreciated, as such aids in gift giving – the item does not look like a re-gift or used, with that hangtag. Washability? The suggested machine washing is in a warm water wash and low heat drying. Date of manufacture Unknown Date received? Fall 2025. Country of origin? Made in Vietnam Wish list? That this was made of organic cotton and was OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified What is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified? I consider that an important label, which identifies, to me, that every component that makes up an outfit was tested for harmful substances, which allows me confidence that the ensemble represents high product safety. I like products with this certification, as it gives me peace-of-mind and suggests no corners were cut. Value? Based on the totality, I believe I received better than fair value, on quality alone. Further, this is competitively priced, but more so on the mid-price side, rather than bargain basement side. Any other certifications? I did not see any. What certifications did I “not” see? Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) safety standards and/or CPSIA [US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008. CSPIA specifically targets children's products. CPSIA defines children's products as any product designed or intended primarily for use by children aged 12 or younger]. This did “not” have that certification. I have seen other shirts that do, corroborated on a sewn-in label, it’s a slight negative. Any irritations from using? None. Criticism? Other than what’s noted above, I really have no significant criticisms, other than a suggestion that this would be nice if this had “organic” cotton and was certified in some fashion. Is it perfect? Hmm, again, other than wishing the above, I am happy to have selected this. Rating? I think it a weak five (5) star item, it would have been perfect if my wish list had been included. Don't have a student requiring a uniform shirt but was drawn to the beautiful color of the polo shirt. The three year old recipient loves the Poppy Red color and likes to wear it with jeans and black stretch pants. The polo was true to size and fit her as expected. The material is 100% cotton and is nicely on the heavier end of cotton materials. The seams are evenly and firmly in place. The slightly gathered sleeves give the shirt a feminine look often missing in "uniform" polo shirts. Buttons are attached firmly and hold in place when buttoned. The sleeves have a nice "crocheted" finish as does the collar which adds to the dressier look. Maintaining the bright color and good shape through laundering was an initial concern. However, the shirt came through cleaning (cold water, light dryer) beautifully. The quality of the shirt is excellent, especially for the cost. The quality and value for the money make this an easy recommendation. Read more

On the lighter side of the light blue spectrum, but still love it. the collar and the sleeves have this fancy, like scalloping, design on the edges. looks so pretty. it seems the same quality of thickness and type of material the current uniform shirts my 6 yo daughter's public twp school requires. this color is lighter, than the ones we get from an online store. those shirts have a little ruffle next to the buttons. but these are so pretty with that design, i am not missing the button ruffle. i think i like that the blue is lighter, bc my daughter is a stain queen. and if i have to really "try" at that stain, bc of the lightness of the shade of blue, if it turns it a lighter color, it will not really show as apparent, as the current shirts. the size looks good! washing is always done inside a mesh laundry bag, on warm temperature, and lowest heat setting on the clothes dryer. no issues with pilling or material wearing away, bc I place like type materials in the same bags. No fleece or other types of like towels or pjs in with this type of shirt. good purchase for the money. the current ones we were getting are very expensive, even with their "coupon" and discount offers. i was still spending tons of money on school uniforms. this looks like a good option going forward, bc i need to find an item that has great durability and get more for my hard-earned buck. i think we have found it.
