These are the perfect, comfortable, durable school uniform skirts. The material is thick and stretchy. There are buttons and elastic to adjust the waistband to the perfect fit. The length is perfect so no need to hem. My daughters have worn these skirts to school every day for a year. Then I repurchased the next size up for another school year. I've bought many navy pleated skirts for my daughter's school uniform, searching for one that (1) fits well and maintains appropriate length, (2) allows comfortable movement during recess in a range of seasonal weather, and (3) has sturdy fabric so pleats hold their shape throughout the day and after washing. This is the best navy uniform skirt we've found so far! The only improvement I'd suggest is longer adjusters on the inside for more sizing flexibility - for comparison, Land's End skirts offer about twice the adjustment range for waist sizing, which is helpful for my daughter who has a smaller waist. This material is like sweatpant material which is great my kid loves them however we had to tighten them quite a bit with the adjustable waist and the waist band isn’t wide enough so when it pulls tight the rubber bands stick out the top and because she tucks her uniform top into her skirt you can see the bands.
