As a big and tall guy with size 14 feet, finding socks that fit comfortably has been a constant struggle. For years, I settled for regular-sized socks from big box stores, which led to squished toes and constantly having to pull off my shoe to adjust my socks just to get through the day. My previous attempt at finding affordable, larger socks (a Gold Toe knock-off) ended in disappointment; they fit well but wore out almost instantly. I wear a size 9.5–10 in men’s shoes, and the fit is spot-on—snug but not tight, with just the right amount of compression you'd expect from a fresh pair. The ankle height is perfect—not too low, not too high—and they’re easy to put on without any struggle. Where to start. I will say these are very comfy socks; however, the price is not that great considering they are not name brand. Brands do not mean much to me but I will say they seem to be well made. I have only warn one pair so far and there was not pressure or tension where it cut off any circulation. I did not feel any seems or loose threads either. I work a job where I am on my feet ten plus hours a day and there were no issues at all with these socks. They also seem to be pretty breathable; however, this goes hand in hand with the shoes you choose to where. I were these with a pair of work shoes and a pair of boots. There is ample cushion to prevent blistering or any type of soreness which is perfect. I also love the fact the sizing is larger. I wear a large shoes... 14. I have a real difficult time trying to find a sock which is comfortable and low cut. These do the job and are a true black. I am very happy to replace my Gold Toe socks with these Amazon Essentials. When I could rely on the quality I was an avid Gold Toe "Premier" fan. Like many companies, they have taken the greedy path instead of the quality path. I would have paid a higher price for the quality they had offered. But they cheaped out and they were sneaky about it changing the product name and material content. The last pair of GT I purchased was so inferior in material and my foot would slide around in my shoes. It was very uncomfortable and inefficient as I walk a lot at work. Enter Amazon Essentials: I took a chance. They are noticeably padded in the ball and heel. It is felt when worn more than observed just looking at them. You might think they are thinner but they feel thicker when worn. There is a comfortable snugness to the fit (a plus). The thickness of the sock seam around the top above the ankle is thinner than the GT but it is only a slight cosmetic difference and you may be the only one noticing it. It does not effect the fit. When I wear these socks my shoes are more comfortable. Dare I say they are thinner than the GT but they are stronger and I feel like my feet are supported unlike ever before. Read more
