The Amazon Kindle is a great device for anyone who loves reading. It’s very compact and lightweight, so it’s comfortable to hold and easy to carry anywhere. One thing I really like is that it helps you focus on reading, since it’s made mainly for books and doesn’t distract you with apps or notifications. The screen feels easy on the eyes and looks a lot like real paper, even in bright light. The battery also lasts a long time, which makes it very practical for everyday use. Overall, the Kindle is a simple, convenient, and enjoyable way to read more, whether at home or on the go. Read more

This Kindle is small enough to hold with one hand it’s pretty light. The screen quality is really good. Feels like I’m reading a book not a computer screen and I like how they added dyslexia font to all kinds so now I can read a lot better and I like how you can borrow library books, and put it on the Kindle. and the battery life is wonderful for long trips and this kindle is good for taking anywhere, it’s easy to use and the price is not that bad for an E reader perfect for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money for a Kindle. This was my first Kindle until I upgrade it to the colorsoft Kindle. but if you’re not reading comic books or graphic novels, this Kindle is a good one for any one who wants to try Kindle. The only thing I do not like with the Kindle program is the trade-in value sucks. so I just end up keeping the Kindle I’ve already bought. But that’s my only complaint about the Kindle. I get better trade-in for my Apple iPad from Apple but Amazon does not give you a good trade and value towards a new one which is why I hardly ever upgrade, but the book selection is wonderful. You can use it with your local library using Libby Goodreads is connected to it. Amazon needs to look into another program because Goodreads sucks. I like how Kendall gives you encouragement to read every day and it will ask you how many books you want to read in a year and tell you your progress and I really like that and I like how people with dyslexia can now read more comfortably if you just want to read books this is a great starter Kindle Read more

So far I LOVE it. The color is GORGEOUS and true to the pictures, the screen, when the brightness is turned down looks just like paper. I paid to have no ads and it is soo worth it, navigating through the device is super easy. Sometimes it takes a while to respond if it looking up a book in the kindle shop but other than that is responds super well. I've read some manga on it and the pages turn super quick and super easy to read on. It's small enough that u can take it anywhere I popped it into the rose kindle case as soon as I got it but this thing is pretty sturdy. There's no buttons which is kind of sad but the touch screen is textured and doesn't feel like an iPad or phone while ur kindle is off it'll display your book cover on the screen but u can disable if u want. Overall the experience is a 10/10 and I couldn't recommend it enough Read more

The Amazon Kindle 16 GB (newest model) turned out to be an amazing purchase and a perfect Christmas gift. My wife was unsure about switching from paperbacks to a Kindle, but after a little setup, she was completely hooked. She ended up reading two books in just three days and even says it feels like she reads faster on it. The size is just right—lightweight, easy to hold, and comfortable for long reading sessions. The screen is easy on the eyes and truly feels like reading a book, not a tablet. Overall, she absolutely loves it, and it completely won her over as a reader-friendly, convenient alternative to paperbacks. Read more

My experience with purchasing the Kindle basic has been one of the most frustrating I’ve ever had. I had a 15% off coupon for a Kindle so I decided to get one. My Kindle arrived and I was so excited. I immediately loved it! However, I had issues with the cases and wound up having to repeatedly order to get the right case. After that frustration, I started noticing faint vertical lines on some of the ad pages. I got concerned that there was something wrong with my Kindle. I contacted Amazon several times throughout this experience. Some reps suggested that I pay to have the ads removed to avoid seeing the lines. Others suggested returning/exchanging. I, personally, do not mind the ads so I was not willing to pay to have them removed to avoid seeing the lines. I didn’t find that fair, at all. I decided to repurchase another one and realized the 15% coupon I used would not apply, even if I returned the original. One agent did say I could be refunded the amount of the discount once the new one arrived. Others said I was pretty much out of luck on that. I did not want to do an exchange after reading other reviewers saying Amazon sends a refurbished unit if you do that. I did not pay for a new Kindle to wind up with a refurbished Kindle. This started the process of buying and returning multiple Kindles. I worried I would get banned for buying and returning so many Kindles (and cases with that whole fiasco of being sent the wrong one repeatedly), but an agent I spoke with said it’s completely fine to do that until I get one I like. I absolutely hated the entire process of buying, testing, and returning… I don’t recommend it. I’ve read about others who have also had to do this for various reasons and it’s pretty awful. It was extremely stressful and made me want to stop buying from Amazon with so many issues (wrong/defective/used items sent as well as items not being shipped/delivered on time, even as a Prime member). Anyway, the ones I received had much less obvious lines on the ad pages (you really had to look for them), but the page turns were much “flashier” and it had more ghosting. I realized the ones with the “flashy” page turns/more ghosting looked different on the back (just a serial number) while the original with better page turns and less ghosting (but more obvious vertical lines) had more info stamped on the back. I wonder if this means different manufacturers are producing these and have different issues. In the end, I think I’m going to have to stick to the original as I dislike the flashy page turns/ghosting more than the vertical lines on the ad pages. If I didn’t absolutely love everything else about the Kindle basic, I would just return it and give up. The size is the main thing that makes me want to keep it. I have small hands/wrists that get sore after awhile when holding something too large/heavy. While I like the Kindle Paperwhite (I have one), it is less comfortable to hold, especially for longer periods of time. I do wish the basic had the warm light option like the Paperwhite does. I know that is a dealbreaker for many, but so far I am doing fine with it the way it is… although I do think it’s a flaw. I know I sound pretty negative about the basic, but the frustration from the whole experience has probably tainted my review. I will say if you get a good one from the start, you will be very happy.
