The LED lightbar is pretty cool and I was impressed with the effect it produces. Setup wasn't too bad either, just need to provide the remote with batteries and you're all good to go, just make sure to pair the remote with the LED bar following the instructions (hold power on remote while manual turning on power switch on the LED bar cable). The reason for the reduced 1 star is due having to manually turn on the spinning feature and also the color options on the remote not matching the actual color output. If I pressed the darker bluer-purple color, it would produce the stronger blue with the lighter red to get that color output. But when I pressed the next color tone down, which should be slightly less blue but slightly more red, it instead went full red with slight blue (which would have been the last button option in the column, not this one). Continuing down the next button then made an expected in-between purple mix of the blue and red. Basically, the remote programing isn't perfectly correct. Overall the effect is cool, I like the "smokey" effect it makes and how it also works like a prism separating out the source LED colors that make the produced output color (ex. cyan means you will see the green and blue LED tones separating in the smokey effect). Ordered this: Ambient Lighting for Wall Decor, RGB led Light for Bedroom - for my daughter to play with in her room. I did not try to use the app but once you pair the remote it works well enough. If you want to do music effects and have a more dynamic lighting control then you do need the app. This one is very similar to one I reviewed last year, but with added app functionality. The Led lights underneath illuminate a tube the spins and makes the light move across the wall. The diffusion pattern is more like the main listing photo, not as wide as some of the others, think that is supposed to be multiple units at once. If I was using it in a common space I would want to hide the unit somehow as it is pretty big and the brightness of the unit detracts some from the wall bouncing effect. At first I thought they mounted to the wall but they sit on the floor and have a button on the side to manually trigger the washing effect. Went with 4 stars because while I like them I am not sure they are a great deal at the full review price. Read more

Overall, I'm reasonably pleased with this ambient lighting block. I got this lighting for my daughter's room as well as our family dance parties. The lighting effects are magical - a beautiful palette of colors dances on the ceiling and walls when the light is turned on and motor is spinning. Furthermore, the lighting block also has a mode where it can hear sounds on a cell phone app to allow the lights to dance with the beat of music. I found this mode for the most part worked very well keeping with the beat. That being said, this lighting block has some limitations. The most frustrating aspect of the lighting block for me is the motorized turning mechanism. This mechanism can only be turned on and off with a mechanical switch at the base of the block. This is very frustrating because the block is very low to the ground and usually placed behind objects such as a couch or table. The motorized turning mechanism cannot be controlled from the app or the included controller. Furthermore, the sound sync mode only works from the cell phone application. Overall, these various limitations are frustrating for the user experience. Still, this lighting block provides reasonable value for the money given the beautiful lighting effects at a reasonable price. Read more
