I purchased this to use in my finished basement family room. The price I paid is reasonable for what I received. I ordered the black base item with beige shade. The base seems to be secure with no tip overs. The entire item needs to be put together, including the lamp shade, which is easy. This lamp seems to be well constructed - the finished put-together product is secure with no chips or scratches, and all of the threading lines up and is well machined. We really like the foot switch and remote combo, and all of the features on the remote are equally useful. I'm glad I purchased a lamp with a remote. The lamp shade is smaller than I was expecting - it is difficult to visualize the scale of items even with posted dimensions. However, this does not detract from the lamps usefulness and in the end, it's probably better that it's a bit smaller as it happens to fit better in my space. I removed a star because this lamp does not have a manufacturer's warranty - not even the obligatory 90 days. So this means beyond the 30 days Amazon provides you have no recourse if the lamp fails. I thought this would be a temporary lamp for $38 until I could find one I really like. But this lamp far exceeded my expectations. It’s small in size but that didn’t bother me once in place. The quality is very good. It’s solid, not wobbly, and I love the remote and all the color options. It all came in a small box to be assembled and I almost sent back immediately…I’m so glad I didn’t because assembly was super easy and it came together so nicely. These are just what we were looking for. We purchased 2 to put in our living room. The price is fantastic compared to what is available at big box stores, especially considering they come with a remote and have multiple functions including dimming and different shades of white. Very easy to assembly. The shade uses velcro to secure it, you just unroll and snap into the wire and verlcro together. There are multiple different brightness settings as well as warm and cool tone light. I will note that it is important to use the light bulbs that come in the box. We first tried this with our own and while the lights worked the remote did not. It took a moment for us to realize that we needed to use the included light bulbs as they are paired together and after that the remote worked right away. The remote is magnetic and sticks to the light pole if needed. We also did find that one remote will control both lights. Very happy with our purchase. Read more

This is a nice looking lamp, but don't let that deceive you. The remote and the on/off switch work at will. You'll need to click and click and click and by chance it will eventually go on. Also the magnet feature on the remote is very weak. It doesn't hold the remote in place. It slides down. We are returning it. Tried to return it earlier, thinking I could live with this defect, but it got much worse. Now I want to return it...tough luck. You will not have the option and convenience of Whole Foods return. I need to pack it and label it and use UPS. It was not cheap either. Expected better. Don't buy it. Read more
