This is a nice little lighter. It is the size of a cigarette and works on kerosene. Just soak the wick from the bottom and wait for about 5 minutes, then open the ligher from the top and twist the flintstone mechanism quickly to generate the spark which will light the wick. The lighter is good quality and feels nice, but I have a problem with the lighting mechanism. The cap keeps moving when you try to light it up. Other than that, this is a nice little lighter. Positives: This is well made and nifty novelty lighter. It's very compact and easy to slide in your pocket. I guess the size is the same as a cigarette, I'm not a smoker but I found that to be interesting and helps give an idea of the actual size. It strikes well and should last a long time. Negatives: It doesn't come with lighter fluid, but I understand since it wouldn't make it shippable in some cases. You'd need a funnel to fill it probably and it could have come with a small one, and maybe an extra cotton wick. Read more

I really like the overall design and how compact this lighter is. It looks really cool and it was my shiny, new object for about a week. After a week I realized it’s not very practical. Now I use it when I go out to show off, other than that I don’t use on a daily basis. I like that it’s kerosene, this does come with its own pros and cons. Lightweight and durable. Read more

I didn't realize that this was a kerosene lighter. That can be a bit of an inconvenient and messy fuel. On the other hand, kerosene won't evaporate over time the way butane does. It's a fairly tiny thing, as you can see from the pictures. You pull the top and bottom pieces to open up the middle, and then flip it over to strike the flint and light the cotton. There's a hole in the bottom of the unit, which I unscrewed using just my thumbnail (handy!), where you can wet the wick. Overall, I could see this coming in handy if you go camping or fishing, etc. and need a reliable implement with which to light a fire. This is small, compact, lightweight and easy to carry. In my experience, butane also is less likely to fail to light and/or go out in a windy situation. How much use I'll get from it remains to be seen, but if I were an avid outdoor type, I'd definitely keep this in my pocket. Read more

Tiny boy. Cool design, but don't know how well it'll last in a pocket. The flint and striker are excellent. Haven't put kerosene in it yet as I'm a little scared to. Might just keep it around as a little keep sake but can't think of any real world uses or applications for the little guy. Mostly just another knickknack to keep on a shelf. Read more

Interesting and unique, not sure how much use it will get since it's a kerosene lighter. I snatched it up fast to review because it was unique and I knew it would go quickly, then read the details. It's unique, and so small, very slim, and feels comfortable in the hand. It pulls open. It seems well made. Unfortunately, although a novelty item to me, it probably won't get used often due to being kerosene. I'm not sure we have any kerosene at the moment. I added this lighter to my small collection and it fits in nicely. I like lighters that have a bit of mystery to them, where you take a moment to figure out how they work. This one has that quality and feels solid in the hand. It looks classy and slips easily into my pocket, which makes it convenient to carry. I’ve found myself using it more than I expected. I haven't filled it with Kerosene, yet. However, I am already a little impressed with how small this lighter is. The lighter is about the size of a regular smoke and will fit in place of one in your average pack. It is made of mostly metal and looks vintage.
