Just like the ones at the gym

As far as the price, I know these seem a bit on the higher side for resistance bands, but I have to say that when I first got them I then understood that these would likely last because they are exactly what I've used at the gym and those get a lot of use on the daily. As far as my home workout routine I often use these for shoulder workouts as I've been working through and injury and this allows me to still get in some good range of motion with resistance and to maintain good technique while I let this area heal. The addition of the door anchor is pretty nice because this also allows to set this up in a way where I can align the bands so that I'm not having to adjust my form while getting in those reps. I didn't used to gravitate toward resistance bands and was always using dumbbells or barbells for shoulder and bicep training, but these seriously are great for those lighter workouts just to get in a good stretch and some blood flow to those muscles. I've only had these for about five months, but again, they're the exact same bands I use at the gym and I do think these will last quite awhile. I've had others where the durability didn't seem great, but I don't feel these will be breaking down anytime soon. Read more

Excellent for Home Workouts - Suggested Exercises to Use with Them

I've got an older dog that I try to walk for at least three miles a day. This gives me a decent lower body workout, but little upper body exercise. I attempt to make it to the gym, but struggle to fit it in my schedule. Recently I've attended some introductory classes with an F45 fitness center and learned that they are including elastic bands into their workouts. I'm greatly encouraged that with these bands and with a few standalone weights, I can get most of my upper body workout done at home. I really like that this set included both a lighter weight band (7 lbs) and a more medium weight band (18 bls). This allows me some flexibility on which exercises to focus on. These bands did not come with any recommended exercises in the package. The Amazon website is also silent on this subject. The one place where I found some exercises suggested was on this manufacturer's website. Here is an extract of that material: Warm-Up: Prime Your Muscles Warming up is essential for any workout, especially when you’re about to tackle advanced resistance band techniques. Start with some dynamic stretching and light resistance band exercises to get blood flowing and muscles primed for action. Some effective warm-up moves include: • Band Pull-Aparts: Hold the band at shoulder height, arms straight in front of you, and pull the band apart by squeezing your shoulder blades together. • Lateral Band Walks: Place the band around your ankles and take small, controlled steps to each side. Great for warming up glutes and hips. These exercises will help prevent injury and prepare your muscles for a more intense session ahead. 1. Band-Supported Plyometric Movements To increase power and explosiveness, adding resistance bands to plyometric exercises can take your workout up a notch. Plyometric exercises, or “jump training,” build quick, explosive muscle contractions that are key to sports performance, speed, and agility. Try these: • Band-Resisted Jump Squats: Anchor the band under your feet and hold each end in your hands or around your shoulders. Perform a squat and, as you explode upward, the band adds resistance to make each jump more challenging. • Band-Assisted Lunges: Attach the band above you (to a pull-up bar or a sturdy anchor) and hold the other end to assist with stability and power as you jump from one lunge position to the other. These variations engage your muscles more intensively and help develop coordination and stability while increasing explosive power. 2. Complex Exercises for Core Strength Using resistance bands in complex, multi-joint exercises is a great way to build functional strength and core stability. With bands, you can add rotational resistance and core activation to exercises, improving overall balance and athletic performance. Try these advanced core moves: • Rotational Woodchop with Band: Anchor the band at a low point and stand with your side facing the anchor. Hold the band handle with both hands and move it diagonally across your body in a “chopping” motion. This exercise works your core, obliques, and shoulders. • Single-Arm Band Plank Row: Anchor the band at floor level and assume a plank position with one hand holding the band handle. Row the band while keeping your body steady, strengthening your core, back, and shoulder. Incorporating bands into these rotational movements creates a strong, stable core capable of handling dynamic and unpredictable movements. 3. Progressive Resistance for Leg Workouts Resistance bands can add another layer of intensity to leg exercises by targeting smaller stabilizing muscles that are harder to reach with weights alone. These advanced resistance band exercises will work your legs from every angle: • Banded Bulgarian Split Squats: Anchor the band under your front foot and hold the other end in your hands or on your shoulders. Perform a split squat, adding more resistance as you lower and raise your body. This challenges balance, glutes, and quadriceps. • Band-Resisted Good Mornings: Step on the band and hold it around your neck or shoulders. Hinge at the hips, keeping your back straight, and feel the band working your hamstrings and glutes as you rise. This movement strengthens your posterior chain and improves hip stability. Adding these banded exercises to your leg day routine builds strength, balance, and endurance in a whole new way. 4. Enhanced Upper Body Workouts with Resistance Bands For advanced resistance band exercises targeting the upper body, you can intensify classic moves or try new techniques. Resistance bands allow you to work through different planes and angles, building strength across a wide range of motion. • Band-Resisted Push-Ups: Place the band across your back, holding each end in your hands. As you push up, the band creates resistance, making this classic exercise significantly more challenging. • Single-Arm Overhead Press with Band: Anchor the band under one foot and press it overhead with one arm. This adds resistance to both the shoulder and core, requiring stability and balance. These exercises provide weight-lifting benefits with the added challenge of constant tension. 5. Advanced Mobility and Flexibility Work Resistance bands play a crucial role in stretching and mobility for advanced athletes. Band-assisted stretches provide a deeper stretch and help prevent injury. Try these moves to improve flexibility and recovery: • Band-Assisted Hamstring Stretch: Lie on your back and loop the band around your foot, pulling your leg gently toward you. This helps to stretch the hamstring without overstressing the muscle. • Shoulder Mobility Stretch: Hold the band in both hands, extend your arms above your head, and slowly move the band behind your back. This stretches the shoulders and upper back, improving mobility and helping prevent injuries. Read more

Great investment

I have such a hard time making it to the gym with our busy schedule but using these bands have helped so much! They are the same quality that they have at my gym. They appear to be very durable, and they are very easy to use if you have a workout routine. If you don't, there are several online that are so simple to do! This set includes different pound options, so you have the ability to go up and use more resistance. Read more

Good resistance band set, but the resistance is a bit low. Great for muscle toning

This is a good resistance band set. You get two bands - one that is 7 lbs of resistance and another with 18 lbs of resistance. Both seemed to be a little bit weak for me. The length of these resistance bands is good, but it feels a little long for me. The upside to these resistance bands are they are of extremely high quality and made very, very well. Definitely will continue to use this set of resistance bands for my strength training workouts. Read more

A really neat way to work out

I'm already loving these resistance bands and I only just got 'em! Here's why. First, I always feel good about anything made in America. That could perhaps be a reason why the price is a little on the high side, but what you get is a quality product. Time will of course tell how good the quality is, but at the moment I have no concerns about it suddenly breaking on me because it feels well-made. Second, the different levels of "weight" for each band is a cool concept, because you can simulate real weights and easily switch it up simply by using a different band. I'm already eyeing the heavier weight bands, though the medium is still really good for now. It feels great to use muscles I don't normally work out. Finally, I really like the door anchor. At first I was skeptical, but it seems to be secure (at least for our doors) and doesn't appear to damage them either. I'd be curious to try it with the heaviest weight to confirm, but so far I'm quite impressed. There's actually a little metal ball inside the strap which makes it virtually impossible for it to slip through the door, provided the door is securely and firmly latched. It's almost like you have a gym without having to set up a gym, because you can use this just about anywhere. My triceps are already burning, so I'm excited to see how this thing improves my abilities over time. Read more
