Used right right away for a “split payment purchase” as Amtrak does not allow to split the fare for payment with two credit cards. This did the trick. Upload the gift card and then use this - credit card. Possible use cases: Business trip where spouse attends the trip. Payment of one seat with company card, second seat with gift card - this to keep all in one reservation. Also useful to have a second person to sleeper car without the hassle of calling Amtrak do purchase an open sleeper ticket (many agents dont even know that such a fare exists). BEWARE, you cant add the second person afterwards though - the whole purpose is to have all in one reservation. Thanks Amazon for making that possible, as the gift cards from the seller on the Amtrak website sometimes don’t arrive. I rather trust Amazon, as they have a very good customer service in case something goes wrong. Read more

THANK GOD for this product!!!! Every single card of mine was getting declined on their website which was super upsetting because there is nothing wrong with my cards. Super annoyed and after some research, I found that this is a KNOWN issue on the Amtrack website. I frequently use the Oceanside, CA location where the station is NOT STAFFED and thank the heavens above for thinking on this alternative. I was able to purchase and receive within 30mins so that I could continue in my business trip. Moving forward, I’m going to use the Metrolink (cheaper anyway) instead of Amtrack but if it’s gotta be Amtrack, purchase this ahead of time to ensure no interruptions on your travels. Read more

Problem: I needed an Amtrak train ticket. Amtrak has a website where you book tickets but I don't trust them to my credit card. I found Amazon had gift cards for Amtrak. I trust Amazon (for the most part) Got card number within a few minutes. I then went to the Amtrak site and booked my ride. Thanks Amazon, that worked great. Read more

I use the Capitol Corridor to travel to my family in Sacramento and had an Amazon Gift Card to use so I used it on this. Well I can tell you that it arrived as I ordered. I had to pay the difference with my credit card on the Amtrak site after I put in the gift card voucher but it all worked out in the end. Make sure you're good to travel before redeeming as there are penalties for cancelling certain kinds of trips on Amtrak depending on when you cancel your train. Read more
