This is a fun spin on a glass wand! There are glow-in-the-dark sprinkles spiraled along the shaft. It didn't take much light to get it to glow, and when I put it over my black light, it charged in less than 15 seconds. There are small bumps and knobs along the shaft with two small "knots" at the base. The rose is wide enough that it probably constitutes a flared base but I would still be careful. The shape has the added benefit that when I set it on the counter for cleaning, it didn't roll anywhere! This is a decent glass toy for those new to glass toys.
