About this item

  • Catch Battery Problems Early: Featured in two videos by Project Farm, a popular YouTube channel with millions of subscribers, the ANCEL BA101 helps you quickly spot battery issues before they leave you stranded. It provides easy-to-understand readings for State of Health (SOH), State of Charge (SOC), voltage, current, CCA, plus cranking and charging system tests, so you can better understand your battery and help avoid unexpected breakdowns
  • Know the Real Condition: Don’t let inaccurate readings lead to costly surprises. Built with high-quality copper crocodile clips and a precision smart chip, this battery tester is designed to deliver dependable results. For the most accurate test, enter the correct battery type, rating value (such as CCA/Ah), and temperature exactly as shown on your battery label, so you get a clearer picture of your battery’s true condition
  • Fast, Clear, Hassle-Free Testing: The classic black-and-white screen, adjustable contrast, and white backlight make results easy to read in bright sunlight or low-light conditions. One-handed operation keeps testing simple, while direct power from your vehicle’s battery means no charging and no internal batteries to deal with. Multi-language support makes it easier for more users to test with confidence
  • Protection When Mistakes Happen: Built-in 4-in-1 protection helps guard against reverse polarity, short circuits, overcurrent, and overvoltage for safer testing, especially in tight spaces where clamp slips or wiring mistakes can happen. The 3x reinforced ABS housing adds extra durability and helps protect both the tester and your battery during everyday use
  • Built for More 12V Batteries: Supporting global standards including JIS, EN, DIN, SAE, BCI, GB, CA, MCA, and IEC, this tester works with 12V batteries used in cars, trucks, boats, RVs, ATVs, lawnmowers, golf carts, and motorbikes over 30Ah. Compatible with Flooded, AGM, GEL, and EFB batteries. Not for lithium batteries, non-12V batteries (6V/8V/24V), or motorcycles below 30Ah. For 6V testing, choose BA101 Plus. For 24V testing, choose BA101 PRO

Reliable and Accurate Battery Tester for Our Equipment

Whatcom ExcavationMarch 3, 2026✓ Verified purchase

We purchased the ANCEL BA101 Battery Tester for our equipment at Whatcom Excavation, and it has been a great tool to have on hand. It’s easy to use, gives quick and accurate readings, and has helped us diagnose battery and alternator issues on several trucks and machines. The display is clear, and the CCA testing has been reliable. For the price, it’s a solid piece of equipment that saves us time in the field and in the shop. Highly recommend for anyone needing a dependable battery and charging system tester. Read more

Works Great On My Truck, SUV and UTV Batteries

Gary CNovember 8, 2025✓ Verified purchase

I saw this product tested on Project Farm and decided it was time to upgrade from my old battery tester, especially for the features versus price, and the recommendation of the Project Farm host. I jumped on it the other day when it was $4.00 off on a sale. I ordered it early in the morning and it arrived at my door the same day. I like that it has the battery test, starting circuit test, and the charging system test. I don't have any 24VDC batteries so I wasn't concerned that it didn't test those. I took it out to the garage and after breezing through the instructions and watching a couple YouTube videos I hooked it up to my 2013 RAV4's battery. It came on and displayed the menu. I picked battery installed and after entering my AGM flat plate battery and CCA it tested the battery and arrived at a GOOD BATTERY reading, but needed charged. I hooked up my 4A trickle charger and left it to charge up the battery. While it was charging up I took the tester outside to my 2000 Chevy Silverado and hooked it up. The battery tested GOOD BATTERY and I proceeded to test the charging system and the starting system. Both of those tests came back NORMAL. After the RAV4 battery charged up I tested it again and received a GOOD BATTERY result. I compared it to my old tester that only tests the battery and they were pretty close, and came up with the same GOOD BATTERY result. I like that this is small but has a lot of nice features packed into it such as keeping the CCA value so you don't have to re-enter it, reviewing the results, keeping several tests in memory, and the ability to print out the results. The display is backlit so it is easy to read. The clamps seem very robust and fairly heavy duty. This will do everything I want to keep tabs on my Truck, SUV, and UTV batteries health. Like I said before the shipping was quick and the package arrived at my door in good shape. Nothing not to like about this tool. One thing to note, when you perform the Quick Test the tester asks for the AH (Amp Hour Rating) of the battery only. If you divide the CCA of your battery by 7.5 you will get the approximate AH rating to enter into the tool. Read more

Nice addition to toolset

CTAugust 24, 2025✓ Verified purchase

It's a nice addition to my toolset, but keep in mind the Healthy percentage or State of Health rating is not just affected by age, but discharge condition; such as running devices without the car (alternator) running over a period of time. It is also affected by use of a charging or repair device. For instance, on a battery installed two years ago, the Healthy percentage was seen at 66%. As a test, I left an interior light running overnight and found the car unable to start the next day. The battery tested at 16% healthy; the tool advised to replace battery. After a pulse repair recharge (different product) over a eight hour time span, the car started without issue and the battery tested at 89% healthy. Three weeks later with the car only started three times and not driven, the battery is at 87%. The seller reached out to me regarding State of Health accuracy and I agree that: "When a battery is deeply discharged, its Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) naturally decrease, which can cause the State of Health (SOH) reading to appear lower. This is a normal phenomenon, as the tester compares the current CCA against the rated standard. After a full charge or pulse repair, as you mentioned, the CCA recovers, and the SOH reading improves accordingly." I did suggest that Ancel update their documentation to include some language that battery replacement due to low SOH may not be necessary, to try a pulse repair (or standard full charge) and determine if SOH increases to a satisfactory level and battery starts vehicle normally. Though one would assume someone that purchases a battery tester would not just replace a battery without at least a recharge attempt of some sort, some people may take the replace battery suggestion literally. Having some mention of charging/repair alternatives would be helpful and cost effective. Another thing to keep in mind, the quick test function relies on inputing the battey amp hours, but CCA is more commonly found listed on the battery. The battery in vehicle test function works better in this regard. There's defintely value in this tool for quick checking of battery current state and I see some advantage using it when shopping for another battery, assuming the stores let you test batteries prior to purchase. Great battery tester for a great price

Michael S. NgJanuary 21, 2026✓ Verified purchase

I’ve just used this to test my 2016 Honda Pilot 12v and it worked like a charm. Use the quick test or plugged in battery tests to see the health of your car battery. Very useful to monitor battery health and prevent stuck on the road situations! The cold crank and charging tests are super useful too…making up all the tests you should need. Like that it doesn’t need batteries to work. Very nice battery tester! Read more
