Supports DP Alt + Power Delivery from one source

This is one of the very, very few USB-C hubs out there that successfully pushes DisplayPort Alt and 100w PD functionality from one source cable to one device. My monitor has a USB-C DP alt port that also pushes 95w PD and this hub successfully pushes both of those to my laptop, phone, and android handheld console. The marketing material says something about USB PD cannot work with DP alt, but it seems to be working fine for me so who knows. With this little hub in-between the link from the monitor to the device, I can now add a USB ethernet adapter and game controller, and I only ever have to plug one USB-C cable into my device (and I am using a USB4 extension cable with no issues as well) and it all works perfectly! Supports Reverse Charging a Laptop on Monitors with USB-C PD!

This adapter is unique in that it supports reverse charging + video on the same port. I use this with an LG monitor (60W PD) and an M1 Pro Mac. At first, I had connectivity issues: hub was disconnecting and reconnecting every few seconds. I followed advice to update the firmware on the hub, but that didn't solve the issue. Turns out, my monitor also needed a firmware update. Once I updated the monitor firmware, it stabilized and has been working great ever since. Read more

Simple and reliable. No Flaws.

Flawless performance so far. I use this item with my iMac, and I'm able to run a 12 channel music interface through it with no noticeable lag. Read more

Good and bad

A bit pricy for what it does (supplies me with three additional USB-C ports) but for that it works perfectly. I also like that it's flat, compact, and isn't powered. Each port has sufficient room for larger or more complex cables. It also charged my phone just fine. I don't intend to charge my computer with it as I have a newer MBA with a MagSafe option. That said, it doesn't support video at all, at least in my case—I have a very basic monitor with no camera, speakers or USB ports which suits my needs just fine and I don't want to switch to a different one, but my HDMI --> USB-C adapter setup is not supported and I still have to plug my monitor in directly. Disappointing to not have this feature and lose a USB port, especially given the price tag. Read more

Great for using an external hard drive while charging my phone

I bought this so I can plug an external hard drive into my phone and charge it at the same time during long plane rides. This device worked perfectly for this purpose, and allowed me to watch movies and shows without draining my phone battery. Read more

Does not provide anything other than basic USB-C HUB functionality without display or charging.

Aweful product. Not compatible with Samsung monitor with DP output. The cord is a bit cheap feeling. The DP/PD port is completely useless since it cannot output or take input charging. Does not appear to be anything other than a really slow charging 3 port USB-C hub which sometimes drops the connection in long operations like transferring files. Update: I was given a replacement, and it worked! For about 10 min. Then the connection started breaking again. I think there must be a design defect that allows this product to kill itself. good on 16-inch MacBookPro and ThinkPad but not 13-inch MacBookPro; intermittent USB 3.2 connections

UPDATE 2025-NOV - lowering to 3-stars: Found that only the 2nd USB-C from the right is truly USB 3.2 compliant. Using the same SSD and same USB-C 3.2 cable, only the 2nd port from the right connects at 10Gbps speeds for RTL9210B-chipset enclosure SSDs (and I have tested with 4 different ones). The other 2 ports on this Anker adapter are intermittent, sometimes they connect the SSD as USB 3.0 and sometimes it connects as USB 2.0, for the same SSDs. The odd thing (as possible workaround) is that if we use a USB-C to USB-A female adapter and then use a USB-A to USB-C cable to the same SSD, it now connects at USB 3.0 speed on any of the ports, but transfers only at 5Gbps throughput. Another annoying thing is, this Anker adapter, even after the firmware upgrade, still intermittently "sleeps" or "goes offline" and disconnects from the laptop (does this on both my MacBook and ThinkPad). It does automatically reconnect after a few seconds, but very annoying, and can possibly corrupt drives that are connected when it happens. ORIGINAL REVIEW - 4 stars: USB-C hub is fast, able to transfer 5+ Gbps to SSD. Video display quality is OK for 1440p (when it works). DisplayPort video worked on ThinkPad and 16-inch MacBookPro, but not on 13-inch MacBookPro; connecting to a USB-C connected monitor (video worked without this Anker adapter). USB-C cable length to host computer is long enough. Worth the $30 price I paid ... yes; it served the purpose of having a USB-C hub while still being able to use the USB-C port for DisplayPort video; overall good design. Read more

Quality Adapter

This thing is great... I have a large monitor that I connect to and it acts as a USB hub also... I got a new Macbook and it only had a single USBC port on the right side, my old MBP had 2... I bought a 90 degree adapter and this, and the set up is now as clean as you can currently get. I wish they made one of these with a built in Intel gigabit adapter, but thats just a wish... Please Anker? Read more
