Product works well so far (it's only been 2 weeks). 20 gallon tank is kept pretty steady at 80 degrees, making my fish and my snail happy. Plants are growing well, and the whole setup appears to be healthy. I placed it horizontally at the bottom of the tank, and use a separate thermometer in the top front to monitor temps across my tank. Temp is pretty easy to change, cable is very short however. It warmed up the water just fine. It's in a 10g tank. It raised the water temperature 2.8 degrees every hour for me. The water has not dropped below the temperature I had set. As far as accuracy it seems to be within one or 2 degrees of all my other readings. I don't have super accurate temp gauges. I know with out it my water was 66.6 degrees and it is holding at 71.2. Right where I want it. Update 12/19/2025 I forgot to shut the heater off during a water change — twice — and it didn’t crack, shatter, or fail. Older heaters would’ve exploded. This one clearly has a thermal safety cutoff. Not an expensive unit, but it impressed me enough that I came back to leave this review. Read more

Purchased the 15w for my 13.5 gal saltwater tank Wanted the smallest one they had cause was scared of cooking my fish and corals. Set temp to 76* It is showing 76.3-76.9 on heater temp and My glass temperature gauge was showing 76.8* Notice the heater temp fluctuates up and down by give or take .1 each time. Does not go under 76.3 or above 76.9. Temp seems pretty accurate. Just watching closely. Good price and works will see how long it last in my tank. Will update review if it does. But so far so good! Failed after 2 weeks. Do not buy, the quality is terrible. It could not maintain the setpoint in my 10 gallon aquarium while it was working and then just died 2 weeks after I bought it. My tank filled with TROPICAL fish was sitting at 66F this morning. I am lucky they survived at all. Absolute crap. Do not buy. Read more

Its a bit small but so far it works great. I set it up for 75F. If the water is running low the thermometer shows an error reading so that is a great reminder. I was skeptical because the previous heater stop working after 20 years, hoping this one last the same, the price worked for me. Its very silent don't even know when its on unless you are looking at the thermometer. the electric cord is long enough for me, no need to worry for spillage and causing an electrical outage.
