The media could not be loaded. The sand is great, but at first it needs to be rinsed for quite a while until the water runs clear. This process took me about 10–15 minutes of constant stirring and pouring off the cloudy water. After that, it’s perfect — it looks nice and isn’t too coarse or too fine. Good quality for the price. Really happy with this sand. The color is black and has no discoloration. Grain size is good and easy to use during water changes and cleaning. It is good quality. My corydoras catfish like to sift through it. Solid value for the amount you get and definitely improves the overall look of the aquarium. Read more
Really liked the black sand. If any dirt in tank it hides it well and doesn't need to be cleaned as often. For the 20 gallon tank recommend 5 bags (25 lbs of sand). Read more
The only star I give for this sand is for the size and color. Otherwise, it was the filthiest sand I ever had to clean. The water wasn't just cloudy it was brick brown! Disgusting. Took way over the amount of time to clean and NEVER DID become clear as the picture shows. I upgraded my review as the seller, wrote to me and refunded my money.
