This bathrobe is perfect for cold winter evenings or mornings. It feels like I am wearing a heavy, snuggly blanket. The material is soft and furry. The zipper pull is a large ring, making it easy to zip up and down. The hood covers enough of my head to provide extra warmth after a shower. It fits perfectly my size 2x body and just brushes the top of my toes. I am 5'3 1/2". I highly recommend this as a winter robe. It would be too warm for summer unless you have air conditioning. I was afraid the robe would look too heavy and masculine in black - like the Emperor in Star Wars, but it's really quite luxurious. The L/XL is pretty true to size. I wear an XL and while there's not a ton of room in the hips, a larger robe would be too bulky in the armpits, arms, and wrists. I wear a silky nightgown under it, so if you bulk up with sweats or thick pajamas, then it might be too small, especially if you're normally an XL. It's fuzzy and quite warm but not overly thick. It's a good quality fabric. The hood is a nice size and doesn't fall down over my eyes. Its also quite long, coming to my ankles at 5'7". Love the zipper and hood when I'm up letting the dogs out in the AM. I've been outside in 36 degrees and its fine for a few minutes zipped and hooded, unless there's a cold breeze blowing through the zipper. The only thing I would have preferred is a better quality zipper. I'm very careful with it, but I'm not one to wash my robes very often. I can see it breaking unless you wash it on a delicate setting and I would hang dry rather than have it slamming around in the dryer. I am also careful with the zipper when wearing it. This is a nice robe, warm and soft but not too heavy. The purple is vibrant and rich. The hood throws off the fit on the shoulders when not being worn, and I understand what people were saying about the zipper. It’s a bit wonky, but so far it continues to work. The side pockets are nice but a bit far back. If I had tried it on in a store, I may not have purchased it, but I like it enough where I’m not sending it back. Read more
