I have an 11-week-old puppy who has only received her first set of vaccinations, so I’ve been cautious about exposing her to potential dangers in our front and back yards. At the same time, I wanted to start training her to go outside as early as possible. I decided to give a turf pad a try, as it seemed like the perfect solution. Initially, I placed the pad on my front porch, but my puppy showed no interest in it. I worried that I had wasted my money. However, I soon realized that the distractions from cars, people, and general activity were making it hard for her to focus. I moved the pad to the backyard and set up a small bathroom area for her. To my relief, she quickly began using it, both urinating and pooping on the pad. Now, she’s on a schedule, and as soon as I take her to the pad, she goes almost instantly. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a young puppy they’re trying to train. The quality is excellent, and it’s very easy to use—just lay it down, and with a little patience, your pup will learn. I have two little dogs and work from home. I'm on the phone sometimes for 12 hours straight. I initially had my office set up in my kitchen, next to the door to my 3-season room. I put a little tray down and put the turf on it and it has been a perfect option for my dogs to "self serve" when they have to go potty. I typically just leave the door open just enough for the little ones to be able to go in and out which is fine until it's super cold when I have to shut the door. I replace the turf every week or two due to the odor that builds. I started putting pee pads on the tray for under the turf and it has helped a lot. I started out washing the turf with a non-chemical solution and a power washer, but it just didn't really help with the odor. This turf fits the tray perfectly and has been doing the job for me for a few years now. My only complaint is the way it's rolled up to be packaged makes it difficult to unroll it (there's a fold that makes it tricky) and when you lay it down on the tray, it doesn't lay flat until it's been on there a few days. I might also say that when I first purchased this turf, it seemed a bit thicker and better quality then it is now, but for my purposes, that's not really a big deal. Read more

This product is terrible. It's just a cut piece of generic turf. It sheds everywhere and my puppy kept eating the green fibers all over our porch. Updated Review: Bought this for putting in my dog kennel. I put rubber drainage tiles underneath. It looked good. Dogs seems to like it and actually went number 2, but I found it hard to clean. Unless stool is rock solid you can't get it out well by simply lifting...the blades are very soft and stringy. Would have to take the piece out and rinse, which I would not want to do every single time. Searched the web and washing in washing machine is NOT recommended...which I verified, :-P. Your machine ends up full of black pieces and you will need to invest an hour into cleaning your machine. I am now going to try out hydroponically-grown sod which i just discovered exists! You can place it in a plastic tray and order every 2-4 weeks. That might be a better fit for us, as you can take the tray out. Read more
