Actually is non-slip! I appreciate both sides of the mat for aesthetic and alignment. The color feels girly. Great low-budget find and it came within 48 hours, big stars this mat. *I prefer smooth foam mat over the texture which is the only reason why id give it 4.5 stars however still calm! I’ve been using the Ascend Yoga Mat in Sage Haven for a few weeks, and I like it a lot. I do yoga a few times a week at home - usually in the mornings before work or evenings after the kids are in bed - so I don’t need anything fancy, just something that’s comfortable and doesn’t slide around. The double-sided print is a nice touch. I love the floral design, but it’s great that I can flip it, too. It feels like it’ll last a bit longer since the hand and foot spots aren’t wearing down as fast. The color is exactly as pictured: bright without being too bold. In terms of feel, it’s almost identical to the big-name 6 mm mats I’ve used before. It’s slightly less ridged, which I actually like. It's still "sticky" enough for yoga poses, but is more comfortable under my hands and feet. I even tried it for hot yoga with a towel, and it held up fine. For me, it’s mostly my go-to mat for casual sessions at home on hard floors or carpet, and it works perfectly. The only small downside was the smell when I first opened it. It was strong at first but faded after a couple of days. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. Overall, this mat is cute, functional, and well-made. It’s not five stars because of that initial smell and the fact that I’m a casual user and don’t need all the fancy extras, but it’s definitely solid quality for the price. Read more

I've practiced yoga just about every day for years and have owned several mats over the course of time, but I must say this is one of my favorites ever. Not only is it pretty, but it's a higher-quality product that - with proper care - will last a long time. I keep it rolled up in a closet, and it lays flat every single time I roll it out for use. It definitely had a bit of an odor at first, but it dissipated quickly and now just smells like the essential oils in the homemade mat cleaner I use. It has the perfect amount of thickness to make it comfortable enough for use on hard floors, but not too thick to make you unsteady when using on top of carpets. The slip resistance is slightly above-average; if you have sweaty hands and feet, you're going to slip a little on ANY mat - and if you buy one that is SUPER slip-resistant, they're uncomfortable on your skin and often too sticky for smooth transitioning from pose-to-pose. This mat finds a good balance between grip and comfort. If I get sweaty palms, I just pause for a second and wipe them off on my pants and I'm good to go. Lastly, I LOVE the alignment guides. I've never needed them before, but I'm getting older and my body is getting more sensitive to wrong-moves and positioning, so making sure I'm properly aligned to myself is increasingly important. These make it easy to do without needing mirrors, which is convenient. Overall, I obviously love this mat. Read more
