I've had this monitor for about 9 months now. I used to use it for FPS games a lot, but I recently moved to the middle of nowhere and I have terrible internet speeds now and can barely get logged into Steam anymore. That said, it worked great for the time I used it for gaming. I now mostly use it for programming or watching videos and I think it works really well. I don't have the highest standards in the world, I'm far from a video quality nerd so I can't tell you if the response time is perfect or whatever. I can tell you that I've been a bit rough with at times and moved across the country with this and everything else I own in my tiny car several times now and it's held up great. There are 0 dead pixels, no light bleed on the edges, and the picture quality seems good to me. Using it for work, I sometimes wish I invested in a slightly higher res monitor so I could set the resolution higher, but I knew what the specs were when I bought it so I have no one to blame but myself. For the price this monitor is absolutely amazing and I recommend it highly for any other budget gamers out there. I've had 0 issues with it whatsoever, it never does weird things like disconnect randomly like my old monitor even though I have it plugged into mediocre laptop via HDMI. Also, putting it together / taking it apart is crazy easy. It's just one screw that has a little paddle on it so you can hand tighten it, no tools required. This is a good monitor for the price, it is curved to help your eyesight/FOV, has options (Blue light, etc) for good quality, and is Freesync/Gsync compatible. It was easy to setup and hookup with my setup. Once I connected the monitor up with the display using the DisplayPort connection, my video cards (2 GTX 1080) and G-Sync recognized/adjusted the monitor. This monitor works well with gaming, granted the highest resolution is 1920x1080, there is no blurring/tearing of the picture using G-Sync. All in all, if you are wanting to get a monitor that syncs with your video cards (ATI or Nvidia), this will be a good starting monitor that is reasonable priced. Read more
This is a fantastic monitor for the price. I am very pleased with the graphics running a GTX1080 card. Pros: -Monitor controls are easy to use with good customization -As advertised the graphics and refresh rate are great Cons: -The maximum resolution is relatively low (1920X1080). It will NOT support higher resolutions. (IMO not necessary) -Factory set sharpness is too high but fully adjustable Conclusion: I highly recommend this monitor for a budget build. After shopping around for several monitors I came across this particular ASUS monitor. I have to say I was skeptical at first purchasing this monitor but I’m glad I did. As I opened the box I got three monitor connection cables (DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort) and one power cord with unit. Next they give you a cable for your headphones to connect into the back of the monitor (If needed). Lastly the monitor and base are included with easy setup along with manual and copy of the warranty. Behind the monitor is also a cable management port which unfortunately I found to be too small with the cover on so I had to keep it off (Could not keep the cover closed while cables went through). The movements and adjustments of the monitor are simple to learn and easy to use. Now for the picture quality I’m running an NVidia RTX 2060 GPU so right away this monitor connected and started up as usual with a pristine picture. Even though this monitor’s original capability is AMD Free-Sync, my G-Sync quickly identified this monitor and adjusted my picture accordingly for desktop and game usage. The highest hertz this monitor can handle is 165hz and the lowest I could get out it was 60hz. The highest resolution I could get out of this monitor was 1920x1080p and the lowest being 800x600 so not the best for 2K or 4K users but still the picture quality has smooth and vibrant colors in its other resolutions. Another thing I liked about this monitor is the brightness, color, and shadow adjustments that you can make while you use your desktop or while in-game. This is a curved monitor so viewing may be different then your flat screens but the view is smooth and sets your eyes centered to the screen more. The stereo sound this monitor is included with is not bad but lacks bass so may be an issue for some, you can always adjust the sound though. The monitor’s side buttons are easy to navigate and use, there is also a control stick behind the monitor to help you navigate faster through your option menus. Even the power button is one touch to turn-on and off, easy/simple. My conclusion for this ASUS monitor is definitely a great buy for budget gamers or someone looking for a decently priced curved monitor. Very nice monitor! Construction is solid and looks to be made very. I play PS4 and mainly modern Warfare. This monitor blows it out of the water. The maps look crystal clear with no fuzziness when you make Sudden movements. The response time is on point and automatic. Colors are super bright and make the games looks beautiful. I would totally recommend this monitor to whoever wants to upgrade there gaming experience. This images don’t do justice to what it looks like in person. Read more
Upgrading from a 60 to 165 Hz monitor was the best decision I've ever made. It works well, response time is super fast, it has a nice matte finish on the screen, everything rotates and fits well. perfect for gaming. the only problem I've had is every now and again the screen will turn black for a few seconds and turn back on, but i just think i need to push the HDMI cord in its port more, besides that its perfect!
