It's a great card, and I'm amazed at how quiet it is even under high GPU load doing gaming or using generative AI applications. Simple to install, it's just plug and play once you update your drivers and tweak all your game settings to use the new card's horsepower. Coming from a 2080Ti I was pleasantly suprised. That said, DO NOT BUY THIS CARD AT CURRENT PRICES. The GPU market is completely whack right now, and as of the time of this review, this card's price is over $600 ABOVE MSRP. Just don't do it. It's not worth a 60% markup over MSRP. If you're living on a 40-series card, just stay put, you'll be fine. If you're on a 30-series card, honestly, you'll get by. If you're on a 20-series card and you're sitting on a big pile of cash that you don't care to set on fire for no reason other than you have no impulse control, then sure, go for it. The card is great. Current pricing is absolutely absurd. Avoid purchasing until prices fall back to Earth... whenever that is. Read more

Expensive, but you know that already if you're looking a 5080. Replaced my 3080 with this and very large gains in all games. Very large card make sure you have the space inside your tower and in the back for the 3 slots. While in my desktop, even with 3 monitors multitasking, the fans never even need to turn on because it idles very cool. Even when gaming the fans at 40-60% rpm are very quiet. I don't think I've seen it go over 70% rpm speed in the latest games. Had no missing ROPs, hopefully that issue was limited to very early cards. VRAM of 16gb is a welcome improvement over the 10GB I had on my 3080 which was limiting the more games that keep coming out since I run games at 4k. Runs almost all of my games with great fps at 4k resolution, with and without DLSS depending on the game and usage of Ray tracing settings and how optimized the game is. With some more maturity in the 50 series drivers it should keep strong performance for quite a few years. Overall a great upgrade from my 3080 from 4 years ago, if you're on a 40 series card it's not worth it most likely especially for the current cost. Read more

TLDR; I used this graphics card in my first custom-build and it works very well for me. It’s a big and heavy beast but it does everything it needs to do very well while looking amazing. You may need to get a larger pc case than what you had for a 30 series or earlier. I selected this 5080 for my first custom pc build and I’ve been learning a lot about pcs in general from the experience. Appearance: I love the design of the card. It looks mechanical and modern and fits perfect with my black themed build. I’ve always liked ASUS designs. My first gaming laptop (my first laptop, period) was ASUS and I have come to trust the brand as being reliable and appealing in its style. Performance: There are no games that I have played so far that haven’t maxed out the game’s graphics settings by default. The 16gb of VRAM was my biggest want out of a new GPU and this helps get all the FPS from every game I’ve tried. Size: This thing is massive. My previous GPU was a 3060. I thought I could squeeze the 5080 into my old case to save a few bucks and I was very wrong. It is also quite heavy so I’d recommend using the included gpu stand or similar to support the weight. When fitted into the correct case, it was super easy to install. Power: I bought a 850w power supply unit and it’s been working fine with it thus far. If you have doubts, it may be safer to get a 1000w PSU depending on the rest of your build. I’ve also heard of issues with the PSU to GPU cables melting but I haven’t seen any evidence of this with my setup. Price: I bought this 5080 pretty early into the series’ release. I paid about 1600 for it but it has been worth it to me. If you have qualms with the price, the 5070 may be the option for you. Read more

It works, there's video on my screen. It's supposed to be top of the line (at the moment), but I don't notice much over my 2080Ti. But I'm guessing the the VC wasn't my bottleneck. I've heard this is a beast though! Read more
