This is very easy to set up with multiple options to connect to audio output from your TV. Excellent audio quality and I was able to use it along with a sound bar so others in the room can listen to the TV. My wife has a hearing problem and was very careful when using it, but on the right ear bud, static and dropped audio occurred randomly but no problems with left ear bud. Finally, audio was only available at left ear bud due to a wire or connection short on the right ear bud wire. It likely was caused by a wire short in that wire to the earbud, perhaps at or within the volume control on that line. We replaced this with the over the ear Avantree Medley Air because of that problem, then contacted Avantree to see if the headphone could be replaced. After their help to confirm the problem, they replaced the entire unit and headphones for free and I returned the defective unit to them at no cost. I have profound hearing loss and struggle to watch TV at times with my hearing aids. As anyone with hearing loss knows, finding a solution that works well and is comfortable is a huge challenge. To that end, I would highly recommend this product. PROS ** The "Enhanced Volume" on this model provides higher volume options with no loss of fidelity. If you suffer from hearing loss this unit is the real deal. ** Excellent clarity: Full field dialogue and background sounds are crystal clear for watching action, drama and sports. Brings the richness and depth back into watching TV and movies. ** Easy to set up and works well with soundbars too. ** Routinely get the advertised 20+ hrs usage with a full charge. ** Have NOT experienced any latency I bought this version to replace an Avantree HT5006 20Hrs Wireless Earbuds that failed after about 2 months. The earbuds on the HT5006 fit better than the this model, but this new model has a much higher range. The unit is easy to install and comes with everything needed to install on your TV and/or soundbar setup with no issues. Customer service is excellent. The initial unit stopped working for whatever reason. Contacted customer service online and after a few troubleshooting attempts, they quickly sent out a replacement with return label for the other unit. Read more
Perhaps Avatree should spend more on directions and less on packaging. The unit comes in an oversized beautiful box (think Apple excess) inside and out with sparse directions of mainly drawings. While I recognize that the “manual” can’t possibly address all possible connection options, a bit of verbiage wouldn’t hurt. Since the TV sound and picture are diverted to a receiver in our case, I chatted with an Avatree rep before buying the unit to determine a workable connection. He tried his best to be helpful but really couldn’t provide me with a solution even though he looked up my specific receiver. It came down to “give it a shot,” which we did. My daughter, grandson, and son-in-law tried all sorts of connections—optical et. al. After three hours, nothing worked. Finally in a last shot of “let’s try anything “ my son-in-law asked if there were any connections on the back of the Comcast cable box. There were, and the RCA plugs worked. Earbuds sound great. Various size plugs delivered a good fit and my wife is happy she can hear the TV and I am happy that she is happy. One more nick-pick: the transmitter is too height to fit under the edge of the TV, so it is now hanging off the edge of the cabinet while I figure out a better solution. That makes charging the headphones a bit tricky, so we’ll probably resort to using the connection on the buds instead of the transmitter. All in all, now that things are working, this is a good solution for giving my wife the hearing boosts she needs while keeping the TV volume at a lower setting for others. Oh, just so you know, conversing with the person wearing the headphones is a problem when the earbuds have a tight fit: it reduces other sounds, like regular conversations, significantly. Read more
I really like the design of this headphone. It fit behind my head with the ear pieces readily available to my ear. It paired right away with my television and phone. I use the headphone 99% for when I sleep to I don't keep my husband awake. I usually only use the right side of the headphone to drown out my husband's snoring but still have the ability to hear what's going on in our home. For some reason, the right side of the headphone stopped working after 8 months. It's the side where the controls are and where you charge it and maybe it got too much use. I contacted Avantree and found out there was a 2 year warranty (usually they only come with one). Dannah contacted me right back, understood the issue and sent me a new headset. She was in constant contact with me by Email and the ease of replacement was seamless. The new one was easily paired again and I was sent a return ticket to send the problem one back to them. I have not had one problem with Avantree and am very grateful for their help in getting me new headphones. If you're looking for headphones to sleep, or even to run with, as I can see these working very well for runners, these are the headphones to purchase. My only concern was that I had broken off the tip of the right ear piece which made it difficult to stay in my ear but it still worked as presented. This product is "you get what you paid for."
