We switched to the Avenco hybrid king and it’s been a solid upgrade. It has that “medium” feel where you get cushioning on top, but the coils underneath still keep you supported. I’m mostly a side/back sleeper and it feels like it lines everything up without pressure points. It also sleeps cooler than our old mattress. I won’t say it’s ice-cold, but it doesn’t trap heat the way some memory foam beds do. Motion transfer is pretty low too — when one of us gets up, the other doesn’t get jolted awake. Edge support is better than I expected for a mattress-in-a-box. You can sit on the side without feeling like you’re sliding off, and it feels stable when you’re sleeping near the edge. **Adjustment 2: Readjusted** Three weeks into ownership and I felt it was proper to reexamine the bed. I can only speak to solo sleeping, but the "sag" areas I noticed originally seem to have worked themselves out as I have used the whole area. Sleep has been a marked improvement over my older mattress.Overall, i feel closer to the four than the two. I let mine sit for over 24Hr before laying on it. It was 90+% inflated within a few minutes and had no smell to speak of. About the same in packing material as a single chair I recently purchased. It is firm. Which is exactly what I wanted to replace my 10 year old PerformaSleep mattress with. It is comfy enough , even near the edges. We bought an Avenco Twin 6” for a baby bed, and were very satisfied. The mattress arrived in a compact box, quickly straightened out, there was no unpleasant smell. It supports the back well thanks to Bonnell springs, and the top layer with gel memory foam makes the surface more comfortable and prevents overheating at night.
