My husband is a solid medium. We bought the medium and it fit great'ish. -Vest: Bigger than expected. He works outdoors and has a broad chest. The medium was too big across the chest and waist but fortunately, there is a strap to tighten the vest to fit around the waist to you couldn't tell the vest was as big as it was. I needed to seam-rip to stitching on the waist and chest pockets but that's standard for any vest or suit jacket and in fact, is usually a sign of quality. They ARE real pockets, not just sewn on flaps. We'll hold on to the vest (I'll probably tailor it a bit to get a more custom fit) because he can use it again if he wants to wear a vest. -Bowtie: Solid black bow tie with adjustable neck band. I think the bowtie was probably one-size-fits-most. My husband's a 15 1/2" neck and there was a lot of overlap with the adjustable band, completely hidden by the collar of his own dress shirt. Definitely re-usable for another activity. -Pocket watch: some people said you could figure out how to get it to work. Didn't even check that because we didn't care. But, weight of the watch and chain was much heavier and nicer than expected. I think description called it plastic but all of ours was metal. -Cigar: hahaha. yes, I guess you could call it that. It kind of looked like a cigar. mainly. If you really want authenticity, go buy a cigar. But it gave my husband and his friends a good laugh. - Hat: piece of junk. Thank goodness I paid attention to others' reviews that call it out. I bought a separate trilby hat for him to wear. Just wish I had added a white band to it to make it stand out better. The media could not be loaded. Ordered this for a Roaring 20's New Year's Eve party, and my husband is very happy with it. We ordered the one with the black fedora which came in a plastic form to keep it from getting crushed. It still got a little wonky but I think I can fix it up with my steamer. My husband is a bit smaller than average, but he usually wears a size medium in men's t-shirts, so we ordered a medium. The vest is a little large but it does have an adjustment buckle in the back and if we tighten it all the way it looks good. The hat fits his little pinhead just fine. Lol. The bow tie also has an adjustment buckle but even tightened all the way it's still a little loose, so I might have to make a small adjustment on my sewing machine. For the record, he wears a men's 15 - 15-1/2 dress shirt. The pocket watch is really nice for costume jewelry, and it really works if you pop the back off with a small screwdriver and put a battery in. It takes one of the really small ones. I used AG4 but it might take others of the same diameter. You have to carefully pry off the white plastic piece that holds together the innards of the piece, then carefully put it back in the same orientation.
