Upon close inspection of the buttons, they have a rustic, wooden look to them. Shorts have a wide strong elastic waist and pockets to stow little treasures. Laundering directions are a bit vague on the tag. I am assuming they mean wash with like colors. I would say wash with your lights/whites in a fragile/gentle wash net bag so other clothes don't agitate against this garment. The fabric may snag, better safe than sorry.
