For trips this year to Alaska and Japan, I have been searching for a backpack big enough to hold some change of clothes and personal items--one that is big enough, but not super heavy to carry around on my back. I didn't want to have the burden of rolling around two bags (counting my check in luggage) when arriving at my destination. I think this one will be perfect. The main area will easily hold 1-2 days of clothes and a pair of shoes, and there are several zipper compartments to fit personal items. So far I have only used it for an overnighter. It worked well and I felt very organized. The straps are soft and comfy. The zippers and material seem to be good quality. This will be the carry on I will use when taking trains and moving from one hotel to another (in Japan, they have luggage service that I will use to transport my bigger bag). I will pack a smaller backpack for daily use. Read more

I've watched many reviews and purchased many backpacks over the years, and I think this one is the best so far. So I typically look for a couple things in a travel backpack or as the airlines calls it, a personal bag. I want an easily accessible top location for my sunglasses and reading glasses and all the stuff I dump out of my pockets right before I go through the security check point. This bag's top pocket is exactly what I think should be there. I also want an easily accessible pocket on the front for my ID, boarding pass, passport, etc. separate from the glasses/pocket stuff. This bag has that too in a zippered very front pocket. I also look for roomy space for my laptop and tablet, which is there. And I also look at quality in the back padding, straps, and bag stitching, which this bag holds up to well. In my opinion, it has it all. I also like how it opens in the center for easy access to everything inside. What an awesome find, sized just right for the person item category. It is too small if you are looking for a full carryon bag, but they make bigger bags for that. *Edit, It will carry a big water bottle on the side, which is another feature I need. Read more

The media could not be loaded. I got this as a personal travel backpack, and it holds everything well. It feels solid and durable. It is comfortable to wear while walking around on a long travel day. The zippers feel sturdy, and as long as you keep to to pocket zipped, the handle feels sturdy as well. It keeps items well organized, but also has a lot of space in the main section. Definitely worth it! Read more

The BAGSMART Travel Backpack Carry on Flight Approved, 28L Lightweight Backpack, is an interesting hybrid between a duffel bag and a backpack. I wanted to really love this bag, but after receiving it, packing it out and taking a walk with it, it really didn't hit the mark. I will be keeping it for use as a duffel bag for weekend trips, but for use as a travel backpack with any amount of walking this may not be the bag for you. I chose this bag because it seemed like a great hybrid between a duffel bag and a backpack. I love the organization of the bag, I loved the smaller size and I loved the opening like a duffel bag. HOWEVER, for my small 5'1" frame, the back pack straps were too wide and kept slipping off my shoulders and didn't sit well. I went for about a mile walk with 3-4 days worth of clothes, toiletries and the normal stuff I would take on a long weekend. The duffel bag part worked great! However, walking even a mile with it was uncomfortable, and I wouldn't want to have to walk long distances with it. Pros: Smallish size - personal item size The zippers were better quality than other bags at this price point The interior was a light grey color and made it easy to see what was in the bag The organization - a nice "admin pocket" on the front, and a top "quick access" pocket for phone, glasses and wallet, and 2 interior pockets a wet/dry pocket and a mesh pocket. Strap for securing the bag to a rolling bag Cons: The backpack straps, while well padded, did not sit well on my frame There was a little stress on the back pack straps so it is not clear whether or not they would last long A power cord (or earphone cord) access point was awkwardly placed near the bottom front of the bag with no pocket nearby for a battery or phone Read more

I travel for work and packing efficiently has become an art. This bag is less bulky than others yet still fits everything I need and went perfectly under the seat in the plane. It’s only been one trip so I can’t speak for longevity but for the price - the quality appears to be legit. I’ve found many travel backpacks have an excessive amount of pockets/compartments. Most of which are useless and I just lose stuff but this bag got it right for me with minimal pockets. The main compartment opens like a suitcase and fits 2-3 days of clothes as well as toiletries. No space for extra shoes or bulky items though. The straps and laptop sleeve are well padded/comfortable. I think looks nice and a little more sleek/chic than some others. Read more

This is my second BagSmart bag I’ve purchased. I love my existing one and have used it for several years during business and personal travel (it has held up beautifully even after scrunching it under airplane seats) but I wanted a new one that opens like a suitcase to serve as my personal item on an international trip. I bought several and compared them to my current BagSmart bag as well as each other and this one hands-down was the best quality. Very roomy, great zippers, soft yet sturdy material and seems easy to clean. Read more

I really love this bag and it holds so much which is great for traveling. That being said it has ripped after only 3 months. I do not carry a lot in the main compartment, just my purse then my laptop and cables. Was disappointed it ripped so easily Read more

This bag is the BEST! It fits everything I need and is perfect for a carry on. The top pocket is really a game changer for quickly and easily getting stuff on a plane. It's big enough for toiletries, a weekend's worth of clothes, a book, laptop, chargers, wallet, meds, etc. Lots of useful pockets, even a water proof one! Read more
