I am retired military, so exercise has always been a part of my daily routine. Since the pandemic I have had to adjust, which is hard because the gym has the equipment I have become accustomed to. I didn’t realize how different it was working out there as when I started to work out at home on my hard wood floors (no carpet anywhere). I thought it would be easy but the military exercise mat is entirely too thin and was making my tailbone hurt tremendously, so I had to give up my sit-ups and some other ab exercises. This kind of threw a wrench into my routine and I could start feeling my motivation go away. I decided to take a look on Amazon for a thicker mat. I should have done this long ago because I found this one I’m writing about. It’s the shape of any typical exercise Matt except it’s 1” thick. It appears to be made of a type of foam (not bothering to look at the description right now). When I pulled it out I thought I was going to sink in making sit-ups even harder but it’s firm but not hard. I like it better than what is at the gym. Durability will be hard to determine until I’ve had it a while but I’m definitely excited to start back up on my exercises. I recommend this mat if you have hard wood floors, bad back, bad knees, etc. I thought I read some negative reviews about mats this thick because of yoga and balance but I beg to differ. If balancing is part of your exercise routine, then a mat which makes balance harder is exactly what you want. Exercise is supposed to be challenging and you need to work harder to see a difference. If that isn’t your goal or if balance is a medical issue, this may not be the right mat for you. Something you may not think about is I have chronic foot pain and this mat makes it less painful for me to stand or jump. For me, this mat is perfect. Read more

High quality. Good mat. Nice large size. Easy to roll up and attach velcro to carry. Thick enough that I sometimes have trouble balancing on it, but that might just be me. Comfortable and well made. Read more

The first one arrived with a long, shallow tear that I was concerned might get deeper with use of the mat. I returned it and ordered a replacement which arrived undamaged. It was disappointing that the seller charged a restocking fee of $18 for the return. The mat is thick and comfortable. It does slip around on gym floors. Read more

The 1-inch thickness provides exceptional support and cushioning, making it ideal for a variety of exercises beyond just yoga. The high-density foam used in this mat is a game-changer. It not only cushions my joints but also retains its shape remarkably well. The carrying strap is a convenient addition, allowing for easy transport wherever I go. Plus, the mat is easy to clean, which is a huge plus after sweaty workout sessions. While the extra thickness might not suit everyone's preferences, especially if you prefer a thinner mat for certain poses, I find it perfect for my needs. It strikes an excellent balance between comfort and stability, providing the right amount of cushioning without compromising stability during balancing poses. Overall, the BalanceFrom All Purpose Yoga Mat will become an indispensable part of my fitness routine. Its durability, support, and easy maintenance make it a top choice for anyone seeking a reliable exercise mat for various workouts. Read more

The first one shipped arrived with the box mangled and a chunk taken out of the pad. A replacement was sent without any trouble and it works as expected. Comfy and non-slip! Since it is so thick, when rolled, it takes up significantly more space than a thinner pad. That's to be expected. Read more
