Ballu Mica Infrared Panel Space Heater for Large Room Smart Quiet Heater with Programmable Thermostat WiFi App Control

I purchased this with a Ballu Convection which I'll review separately. These are two very different heaters in respect to how they will "actually" heat your area. I have a finished garage. Its largest source of heat loss is the garage door. It is insulated and seals well, but it a huge heat sink. Ive moved these heaters around to determine their best use. SO long as we keep the door to the house closed, this heater keeps it comfortable in the garage. You notice its warmth when you open the door to the garage. In the direction of the heater its perfect, a few feet past the heater the temp drops off, but not much. The garage is 20X18. The recommend sq/ft for this heater is ~150sq/ft. Not bad for a drive that you cant tell if it on unless you look at the display. It's that quiet. The app is great too. The interface is sleek and straight forward. Setting timers for on and off is greatly beneficial for preheating the space and safety. I will add you may not want to run these at the same time on the same circuit/breaker. It will trip. I also purchased a 10 gauge extension cord. The 14 gauge plug will heat up and I feel is a huge risk to fire or damage. So be careful if you plan to use an extension cord. I was bale to run these two heaters in eco mode, it steps down to 750 watts from 1500 watts. I dont think it would be necessary unless the temperature really dips. These move gracefully on the wheels, are very light for their size, and look nice in the room. The smart remote is cool. The systems is designed for efficiency. Everything about this is premium and it shows thru in every detail. Dont let the price scare you off. Read more

This is the best space heater I’ve ever owned. The Pro model is excellent. Very aesthetically beautiful and blends in with home decor very nicely. Totally silent heater which is great! Easily kept my very large kitchen open concept area very cozy and warm even with below zero temperatures outside. The remote is fantastic as well as it monitors and communicates with the heater to maintain a temperature you choose. The app is awesome and controls it all as well. Works perfectly with Alexa and offers so much information and capabilities. I highly recommend this heater and will be ordering a second one for zone heating in my home. Read more

I have 2 of these and so far I am extremely pleased. Yes, they are pricey, but I feel they are totally worth it as they are the best space eaters I’ve ever owned. The remote with remote temperature sensor is a great feature. The app is well designed and intuitive, with all the features you want. The radiant heat comes on quickly and heats up by room very effectively, and silently. The inverter feature that throttles the power output is much better than typical space heaters that just switch power on and off and cause greater fluctuation in temperatures. First of all...4 stars because we've only had it a short time, so durability is unknown. That said, this mica heater is a winner for us. We have a large bedroom that, in winter, is chilly at night despite our central heating. Rather than run our utility bill up by turning our thermostat up high enough to keep the room warm at night, we decided to try space heaters. Most of them either didn't do the job, or had a plastic smell (because the heater was plastic), to say nothing of the fan noise they created. Enter the Ballu mica heater...quiet (no fan) and EFFICIENT!. Our bedroom is warm, we fall asleep faster and remain comfortable all night. If the Ballu has good durability, it deserves a 5-star rating. Very happy with this heater. One more thing: I had a question about the heater and contacted Ballu support. This mica heater looks, operates, and warms just as described. It's not complicated and it's absolutely quiet. Quality seems excellent. Easy to move from room to room. Works great in my office, bedroom, and even does a decent job warming my 1000+ square foot open plan great room/kitchen/dining room. Pretty effective on a cool night on the patio. BUT.... I have LVP flooring. The temperature of the floor directly beneath the heater - after 5 minutes and on it casters - is 96° to 100°, as seen in the pictures. (well beyond what LVP manufacturers advise as a maximum temperature limit to avoid damage - around 86°. Note: the temperature gun was aimed at the floor directly below the heater, from in front and behind. I don't care how the companies that manufacture the flooring and the heater would argue the point. The overwhelming consensus is that rapid temperature changes, particularly across a limited area, can damage LVP. And heat expansion, especially rapid high heat temperature fluctuations, can quickly and irreparably damage LVP flooring. So, although it's a high quality product that I'm impressed with, it can't live in my home. I hope your experience is better than mine. Read more

We bought this for our 200 sq. ft. enclosed back porch. It is super quiet and keeps the room warm and cozy. We mounted it on a brick wall with its own plug.
