This swim coverup could have been really cute if the neckline was designed a bit differently and the bow tie in the back would stay in place. The design of the neckline is an awkward V-length. With the thick strap area and the very shallow V-neck, the neckline just doesn’t look nice. If the V was deeper with thinner straps or a boat neck, the coverup would have a much better look. It’s not unwearable, it’s just not the most flattering. The scoop-back with bow detail looks nice out of the package with the manufacturer’s tie, but once I tried to put it on, the bow straps always pulled to one side, and I couldn’t make a bow that looked cute that wasn’t too thick and projecting off my back. I just settled for a knot because I didn’t want to waste more time tying the thing when I could be on the beach. The back design with the lowered scoop is cute though. The material is fine but bordering on cheap for the price point. The black fabric is not sheer, but not thick enough I would wear it as a dress. The cut is flattering but it would be more so if the neckline had a better design. The crochet insert at the bottom of the dress is a nice added touch, but on my 5’8” frame, lands right at my butt cheeks, so definitely eliminates the possibility of this item being anything other than a coverup. The large fits according to the size chart and with the size I typically purchase for swim coverups. Overall, this coverup could have been really good, but the neckline and wonky back bow knocks it down a bunch. Probably won’t be wearing this one too often. Read more
