I bought these to replace some very, very old jute that I hadn't touched in years. I needed the rope now ;-) The red and purple are great. After unbundling and running through my hands to work out the twists, they lay well and don't twist up. They're easy to work with and an independent reviewer had this to say, "this feels so awesome, papi." The black line sucks. When you double up the full 32', it twists up on itself and it's hard to work with. It won't lay well even to bundle up. I'm cutting down the black for short things like cuffs, bite gags, and the odd little bit extra to finish a tie. I'm pretty happy, overall. 4 stars because of the issue with the black line.
