Edit: I had to drop it from 5 stars to 1 star. It just died on me after barely 6 months.. It wouldn't even be worth the cost of shipping it back. I definitely expected more life out of it than that. I shouldn't have since it's made in China. Save your money. I've only had it about a week and haven't done anything other than fries or tater tots so far. I used old one for everything! This one is slightly smaller than my old one but not much. I love the see through window on the front of the basket. I'll definitely be using it for a lot more actual meals! You really need to pay attention to the time though because it doesn't have a better to tell you to turn the food halfway through. As with any electric appliance, you should never leave it unattended. I bought this one because of a review from the mom of an autistic son who wouldn't cook anything. (I have an autistic grandson.) She said he now cooks fish, meat, chicken, etc. because the digital display with photos of the food is so intuitive for someone with special needs. Press one button and your good to go, but you still always need to be mindful when in use as with any electric appliance. Pull it away from the wall when cooking to allow for proper ventilation. I only gave it four stars for the simple fact that there's no beeper at the halfway point. I wish it was a little larger capacity and had more presets. Maybe in future models? PS Buy the liners!
