This brand was put on my radar a few months back when I found a pair of flats made by them that I absolutely fell in love with. The interesting thing is I loathe flats and NEVER wear them, but I loved the pair I got from Beau Today. When I saw these boots, I adored the photos and figured I would give them a try. Since I hadn't ordered anything else from them (besides the flats) I wasn't sure if this was a brand I could count of for quality or if the first order was a fluke. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. These arrived super quick. The shoe box they come in is black, sleek and incredibly sturdy (I can stand on it and it doesn't collapse/break!) Inside, each boot comes inside of it's own super soft, cotton dust bag. That seems to be a trend with this brand and as a shoe collector, I appreciate the opportunity to keep these clean when they aren't in use. Presentation and unboxing is a 10/10! The boots are extraordinary! The construction is exemplary. Clean and even stitching that is strong/sturdy. Not a single loose or rogue thread and there isn't a single spot where the materials are cut jagged or sewn with a improper/messy overlap. The fittings for the laces are attached securely. There isn't any noticeable globs or strings of glue anywhere. The fur inside doesn't shed or roll into the stitching and, even after I looked VERY carefully trying to find a flaw, I couldn't find a single problem with the construction of these boots! Oh, and...one of the things that drives me nuts about shoes with rounded, stitched toes like these is when the rounded line (or lines in this case) of stitching are not even or wonky. Not only are both of the toes perfectly symmetrical here, but each boot has a perfectly curved line of stitching between the sherpa and suede. The materials used are equally as impressive. I was a bit skeptical about the 'cow suede', but I can 100% attest to the fact that these are in fact made form real animal suede- not felt or any other synthetic material. I can tell not just by the feel, but the warmth, strength & durability of the material and how they reacted to being weatherproofed (more on that in a moment). The sherpa is nice and plush, not at all thin or threadbare. And the faux fur lining is wonderfully silky, warm and incredibly comfortable. It too is nice and plush and thanks to the softness, it doesn't get matted easily. The treaded sole of the boot, which keeps me on my feet and not on the ground, is thick, but light and durable. This is the type of 'foam' material that has strength and doesn't collapse or compact down with weight. I usually wear a 9 in boots and that's exactly what I ordered here. They fit perfect. I absolutely love that I can slide my foot in and out of these so easily, without having to untie them. The tops are pretty wide (seeing these don't lace up the whole way), so they are great for larger ankles/calves or of you just don't like having something tight around your leg there. They slide off just as easy as they go on too. These don't have much arch support, but the padded foot bed is super cozy and doesn't cause any pain. The structure of the boot itself does give the foot some excellent support overall. I live in Upstate NY where not waterproofing your boots is just asking for trouble. I knew I had to get some type of protection on these but I didn't know what to use. I ended up using mink oil (my preferred medium) on these. I figured I could control the application well, being careful not to get it on the sherpa. The cow suede took the mink oil well (it did get a tad darker, which is to be expected, but still looks amazing) and worked out perfect. I'm not going to go sledding or play in these bots, so the areas that are most likely to come in contact with water/snow are covered and protected. I would 100% use the mink oil again. I really love these boots! They are super cute and unique looking plus they are super warm and well made. Adding to the already impressive list of positive qualities- these look good with just about anything! They’re incredibly comfortable and keep my feet warm, even after long walks. The material feels durable, and I can tell they’ll last a while. I ordered one size up to wear thicker socks, and the fit was perfect. These boots are great for walking or standing for extended periods, but they’re best for very cold weather—definitely not something I’d wear indoors since they’re so warm. While they provide decent grip, they’re not ideal for super slippery conditions, so be cautious on ice. The design is great, and I love that they come with two sets of shoelaces to switch up the look. After a week of heavy use, they’ve held up perfectly, with no issues so far. The boots are also easy to put on and take off, and the laces stay tied, which is a huge plus! They’ve been great for temperatures between 25°F and 40°F, keeping my feet cozy without overheating. These boots come packaged in a very nice box, and each boot is wrapped in its own shoe cover. I have had trouble finding snow boots that fit- I have wide calves, and many. boots go up just far enough to be a problem. These boots are ankle boots- tall enough to keep snow out but not so tall that they are a problem with my calves. I also found them very easy to loosen the laces and pull them on- nothing I hate more than fighting with boots when you are already mad about having to go out in the snow anyway. So I am thrilled they were easy to get on. They are also comfortable. My only concern is that the material may not be waterproof? I will have to wait for the first snow to find out. I love the looks and feel of these boots. They are so soft inside and out and I just love the style especially with the non slip soles. They are shipped in a forever box with nice inserts to help maintain their shape and also included are a couple of boot bags to keep them clean. The box itself was damaged and broken in several places from shipping and handling. The Amazon delivery person dropped these on my porch which is how I knew they arrived and helps to explain the box damage. However... they are made for very narrow feet. I thought the laces affected the tightness of the boots. NOPE! Just for looks! I unlaced a boot before trying it on so it would be easier to slip into. Halfway between the top 2 lace eyelets, the sides of the boots are sewn together so the tongue would not come up. I was not wearing socks so no extra thickness at all. Maybe if I had nylon hosiery, I would have been able to get my foot into the boot but where it's sewn together, the opening was too narrow. I kept trying to shove my foot in until it was hurting and I started to think about the possibility of not being able to get it back out. I wear a US size 9.5 women's B width but prefer a D width for comfort and looseness. It looks like it is a B width from the outside when I measure against my foot, but that stitched opening, I believe, makes it narrower. If I could fit into these beautiful boots, I would give them 5 stars and prolly add another 1 star in this review if they were comfy. But I can't help thinking that this is a major flaw in the boot design as I have other boots that the tongue comes up so the foot can slide in. If you have really skinny feet, you could prolly wear them but not with boot socks. I'm going to only give them 2 stars and it breaks my heart because it's not often I find a pair of boots I love as much as these! Read more
