The fabric is woven and off-black, likely partially due to the nature of the fabric fibers. I washed before wearing in cold water and dried until damp on warm then air dried to finish drying. When I first put these on, I thought they fit a bit tight. More so around my hips and thighs than the waist. As I wore them, the fabric seemed to loosen a bit and they were more comfortable, but the waist also stretched so then they felt like they were constantly falling down. I washed them gentle and air dried, but they definitely shrunk, so now they are more of a cropped length. They are still cute, but the fabric needs some help - too small now too big now too short. Summer is here, and with it the need for light fabrics. I love these pants. They are light, airy, and very comfy. I'm short, so I had to alter the hem. but other than that, they are great. I'm not sure how long they will last as the waistband is all elastic. It might just last one season, but their lightness makes them worth having even for a short time. Read more

These pants looked great and my wife was very pleased with the look and feel of the fabric, but trying to put them on revealed a major issue - these run very small. Ordered a larger than needed size to make sure and provide plenty of room in the legs, but even then they seem to run 2 to 3 sizes smaller than normal. Read more

I think these are a little pricey for what they are This is that linen like material, do like it, and they have a smocking elastic waistband. I ordered medium which is my normal size, waist band does fit but could have more give. Main issue I have is that they could be cut roomier around the hips and thighs and rear. These are cut for skinny young things and my guess is that most who wear them don't match that description any more. I stopped ordering large because it looked too baggy and made me look bigger, but these would probably be more comfortable in large. I will wear these with a long top any way, so they will look all right, but could be more comfortable. You might want to size up, it is the way they are cut at the top. Read more
