I was getting burnt out from being either hunched over or having to hold the book at a 45 degree angle. Actually with all books that was the case. Also the right height for things makes the mind function better. I could realize all of this and thought to myself maybe i could make something or maybe there is something online available for a solution. I could not make this for that price or the amount of time it would take. This is exactly what i envisioned and is high quality. The metal base and brackets are thick metal and the fingers do hold. For this workbook i am using one finger and putting a crease in there so the pages are not curved and trying with all their might to spring shut. This is a big thick workbook. Small fatter books could potentially be curvy and springy too much. But i would find a way to overcome that if need be. This holds my workbook and already i am studying better with the infinite adjustability. I thought a swivel base is may/may not be great so i also got another model which does not rotate. Believe me you need it to rotate, its awesome. You will be rotating it fractions of a degree here and there as needed. The little balls on the fingers are also awesome. The wrench it comes with is a joke. Youll need a real wrench which i do have many of. Its kinda hard to tilt it, but it has to be so it stays put. If its easy to tilt it will sink on its own. With that said i would not go tilting it ten times a day and stick it in a backpack. I would just keep it at home at my desk and not tilt it much. Hold the base too while wrenching so you dont possibly torque and bend the swivel just as a tlc measure. Its 10mm. This lift will elevate your game believe me. It takes up less space on the desk and i can leave it always there so throughout the day i'll study and look at it in small bits or several hours and take notes easier etc.....it really is heaven. My eyes, neck, hands, back, all feel better. Read more

I read a lot at my dining table in the morning with my coffee and breakfast. The looking down to read was causing neck pain. Got this for my books and IPad and the pain is gone. My chiropractor was happy with this solution, too. Well made, the swivel feature is very handy. Read more
I like the look and the sturdiness. Much better than just propping a book up against something. The,angle is adjustable and the platform can rotate 360°. If I could make one small suggestion, it would be to make the ledge on which the book rests adjustable by approximately 1 inch to widen it. If I have a thick book, a large part of the pages hangs over the front and I cannot use the page holders. Other than that, I am happy with my purchase and do not regret having bought this media stand. Read more
It is definitely sturdy and the hinges can support a decent amount of weight. Only reason I’m not giving it five stars is because it said it’s able to accommodate large books, but doesn’t specify how large of a book. In my case I bought it for reading an Evangelical study Bible, so it’s a thick and heavy book. The page holders come out of the shelf that the book rests on, and the book is thicker than the shelf, so I am not able to use them properly. I was, however, able to bend them a bit and lay the bar across the bottom corners which is getting the job done, but that being said I’m only halfway through. Once I get towards the end I highly doubt I’ll be able to swing the left bar over the bottom of the page. In addition, although the hinges are sturdy they’re only just sturdy enough to hold the heavy book up. They collapsed a couple of times and my Bible fell on the floor and creased some of the pages, so I’m a little disappointed there. Aside from these minor setbacks, it’s definitely a good product, but I would go for something bigger and sturdier if you’re gonna use it for big heavy books such as mine or maybe textbooks.
