I chose this brush because of some of the reviews lamenting that it's too soft. I wanted to replace my current brush which is perhaps a bit too soft and the brush part a bit too long to allow for good control of product application. I also have several similar brushes from other sources which are all too stiff for me. I use a liquid product (mineral powder eyeliner mixed with a drop of water, what can I say, I'm sensitive). This brush may not be 100% perfect (the brush line is a *smidge* shorter and a *smidge* wider than I'd ideally like, but does that perfect brush even exist? I doubt it), and I had to cut a couple inches off the handle to allow working close enough to the mirror to see what I'm doing, as I have done with many other eyeliner brushes. BUT, this is by far the best angled eyeliner brush I've ever tried and it's now my daily go-to. I've been achieving wings that I don't have to correct three times and then blend out anyway in frustration! I've been using it for several weeks (washing every few days) and it hasn't shed a bristle yet. Great product! Read more

I am in my 50's and only recently discovered all the amazing advances in makeup. I mean today when a product says "lasts all day" or "does not crease" it can absolutely be true. Not so when I first learned to play with makeup. You had to touch it up every 2 hours, it looked like a mask, it got all over collars and telephone handsets. I never used a specific brush for a specific task -- just the crummy little brushes that came with products. Things are SO different and SO MUCH better now! I can not encourage you enough to abandon that junk we wore for years and venture on to the new products! That said ..... Brushes are so important for great, lasting makeup application. At this price it makes for a really nice set as an eye shadow starter .... especially to try different shapes, densities and sizes to see what works for you. Then you can venture off to higher quality brushes for specific tasks. It would be a great gift for a teenage daughter (or grand daughter). I gave this 4 stars because I don't think you can get this assortment and quality for a better price. There are better quality brushes but not at this price. The bag is GREAT! Feels and looks like real leather and a good size. I am very happy with it. I prefer the flat liner since I "place and squiggle, place and squiggle" and I wish this one was not quite so soft. I dont use the angle liner, (but I may try it for eyebrows). I love to use a pencil brush for under eye shadow placement. This one was a bit large for me, but workable. For a more complete set I would have preferred the angle shader and the tapered blender be replaced with a stiffer little smudger and an under eye cream conceler -- that would have made this the PERFECT starter eye set. I actually use this brush for my nail art, not as an eye liner. It's great for cleaning up the extra nail polish that gets around the nail, especially the hard to reach area around the cuticle and other areas around the nail. I just lightly dip the "point" of this brush into my OPI nail laquer remover and it works great. This brush can soak up a lot of polish remover, so go easy with it. If I do soak up too much, I first lightly wipe the brush off on a paper towel before I use it to clean up the extra polish. I've just ordered a second one, as I don't know how long the brush will last as it's not really being used as intended (i.e., being dipped into nail laquer remover). It's sooo worth it though, in the amount of time and aggravation it saves me, that I'm taking the chance. This is the best brush I've found that helps me remove the extra nail polish without ruining/damaging the polish already on the nail. Read more
