Super Hydrating Top Layer That Helps Serums Absorb Overnight and Keeps My Barrier Protected

CustomerMarch 8, 2026

I’ve been using this Beauty Pie Cream as my main, nighttime sealing layer, and I really like how it fits into that part of my routine. My skin is combination but definitely drier in winter, and because I’m always focused on keeping my barrier strong, I’m careful about what I put on top of my serums, which usually include peptides, EGF, ceramides, and all the other firming and barrier‑reinforcing layers I use at night. This cream has a soft, cushiony texture when I apply it, and it glides across my skin with that light silicone feeling, but it never crosses into greasy or heavy. I dislike a lot of creams with too much silicone, but this doesn't feel like that. My skin absorbs this pretty quickly, and what’s left is that thin, breathable silicone seal that keeps everything underneath from evaporating or drying out, which I really appreciate in winter. This cream has never irritated my skin or caused any redness or stinging. There is a subtle scent that hits me for a moment when I first apply it, a gentle floral‑citrusy smell, but then it disappears almost immediately. I apply this mostly in the evening, and once it settles, my skin feels cushioned, and about half an hour later it has that comfortable, balanced feeling I look for when I’m layering multiple actives. In the morning, my skin feels soft and steady without any dryness, which is exactly what I want from a nighttime sealing cream. This layers perfectly over all my serums, and the only time I ever get pilling is with certain sunscreens, not with anything I use at night. I definitely prefer it as a nighttime product because it seals everything in without feeling heavy, but it can work during the day as long as I avoid silicone heavy products (which I do anyway) and give it a minute to set before sunscreen. If you are okay with silicones (and I think most people are, I'm a little picky about them), this works well as a makeup base also. I like this a lot as a neutral, steady, barrier‑supportive top layer. I think the value is fair, and I’d repurchase it again for sure. Read more

Strong fragrance, but solid classic cream

CustomerMarch 11, 2026

I thought it was cool that this cream is inspired by Japanese skincare technology. It combines humectants and richer emollients (squalane, shea butter) plus a blend of triglycerides that all help to hydrate, nourish, soften the skin and reinforce the moisture barrier. There are also a few supportive ingredients like dipotassium glycyrrhizate (soothing), sodium PCA, hyaluronic acid (hydration). My biggest gripe is that the cream contains fragrance and fragrance allergens such as hexyl cinnamal, which isn't great for sensitive or reactive skin. Unscented would have been stellar! Overall it's a decent, thick and rich cream. If you don't mind added fragrance, this at time of review is $45, on sale for $30! On the BP website, it retails for $75, so you're getting a great deal. I wouldn't pay full price for this as it seems to be more like a classic cream vs. a high tech science forward formulation, but on sale it's not a bad buy. Read more

Performs far above its price point

One random opinionMarch 1, 2026

I ordered the Beauty Pie Japanfusion Power Elixir Moisturizer because Beauty Pie has become one of those brands I automatically trust. I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers over the years, including some very expensive luxury ones, so I don’t say this lightly when I say this one feels right up there with them. The difference is I’m not cringing at the price. I have combination skin, and my T-zone loves to remind me of that. A lot of creams claim to be lightweight but end up just sitting on top of my oilier areas, especially around my nose and forehead. This one actually sinks in. It feels silky and smooth going on, almost like a lightweight elixir rather than a traditional heavy cream. My skin drinks it up, and I’m left with a soft, hydrated finish instead of a shiny layer. The hydration is really impressive. Between the hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and squalane, my skin feels plump and comfortable all day. I also like that it includes those Japanese botanicals like Jabara-C and grape extract. It makes the formula feel a little elevated, and I’ve noticed my skin looking brighter and more even since I started using it. It gives me that subtle healthy glow without making me look greasy. It also layers beautifully under makeup. Foundation goes on smoothly, and I haven’t had any pilling or weird texture issues. For my combination skin, that’s huge. In the end, this moisturizer feels luxe, performs like something far more expensive, and fits seamlessly into my daily routine. For the price, it really punches above its weight and has easily earned a permanent spot on my shelf. Read more
