Beck Arnley 201-0809 Thermo Fan Switch

Fit's a 1983 VW Rabbit GTI with a original 1.8L. My fan was acting up and not coming on when it should and being erratic. Car had original switch in it still. I installed this and works properly keeping the temp normal(middle of gauge swing). Please note that if you have the original wiring plug with the rubber boot on it, you will have to trim with scissors the rubber cap portion that fits over the switch as this switch is a touch shorter than original hence preventing the connector from being seated and making connection with the spades on the switch. Easy to change. Use or purchase a 29mm short socket. Have new switch ready to pop in once you un-thread old one mostly out. Minimal loss of coolant if your fast. Don't cross thread it. Read more
