First, I am not being paid or influenced to make this review. I had total hip replacement 10 days ago & one of the toughest tasks was getting out of bed. We had a high king size bed which made it worse. I had no bar to pull up with so relied on my husband to help pull me up, which within a couple days was wearing on him. I saw this on Amazon & decided, what can it hurt to try it. It is amazing!! Great quality, easy to put together & we didn't even use the strap, just put under mattress. Our mattress is really thick/heavy, so if you have a lightweight mattress it may not work as well w/o strap. It gave me the independence of getting in & out of bed by myself. I moved from a queen to a twin bed and have rolled out onto the floor too many times. This is perfect for solving that problem. It slides under my very heavy twin mattress almost to the other side and is very secure without the strap, since I'm not using it to pull myself up. It was very easy to put together without referring to the instructions. The rails that slide under the mattress are flat, rather than round and I cannot feel it under my thick mattress. For those wondering why the pocket is facing away from the bed rather than in toward the bed, it just slides over the rail and can be installed either way. Read more
