This bed rail works well for my needs. For reference, I can sit up independently, I just need assistance getting to the edge of the bed and standing up. This was easy to set up, feels sturdy and secure, and I feel stable using it. I took one star off because I can feel it under my mattress, which may impact someone else - I keep it on the opposite side of the bed from where I sleep, so it isn't a big deal. I definitely did not even realize how much I needed a bed rail until I got this!! Even if you don't think you need one - you do! It just makes life easier. This one ended up being too long for my bed preference, so instead I use it on my day bed! My day bed is slightly higher than normal as well, so it has always been more difficult to get in and out of. This is absolutely PERFECT and I am now trying to convince all of my friends to get these for their couches and beds etc! It just helps you support your body so simply and it's really affordable. It's solidly built and was easy to install. However I do want to note that when I moved it from from my bedroom to the other room, I saw rust around the pipes when the area is not super humid or anything like that. Additionally, it had only been put together for about 2 months, so it shouldn't be that rusted in such a short period of time... But aside from that, this was a great addition to my home and I'm excited to have an easier time on my couch for movies nights with friends! Read more

I like the flexibility of this bed rail in that it can used for different sized beds -- in case we change bed sizes from a larger to a smaller one, it's easy to adjust. Overall it was easy to assemble and seems sturdy enough. However, while I think it is sturdy I do think it could be sturdier b/c the other ones I own (and prefer) have legs that also go to the floor -- in this way, there's ample support. If this bed were smaller, say a twin, I'd fear that the way this is would allow a heavier person to flip the mattress if they put to much pressure on the bar (since the mattress would be smaller/lighter than a king bed).
