NVMe WARNING!!! The power caps rest higher than the screw for the NVMe, if your NVMe is dual sided it is possible to BEND THE NVMe if it is tightened down fully. Without the NVMe screwed down hard the heat spreader offered will just tip and is not useful. Unit is tiny and performs well. Using it for NVR on frigate. OpenVINO performance as a detector shows 6-8ms on a collection of 5x 2-4k cameras. The wifi M.2 is e-key and is wired for 1x PCIe lanes which means it is possible to run a coral off this unit although the dual unit will only be shown as a single unit so you will need the m.2 2280 adapter to run both. I am just this side of computer illiterate. This device is small, silent and does everything I have needed it to do without breaking a sweat. Read more
I bought the Beelink EQI12 Intel i5-1235U, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD. I'm using it as a dedicated Frigate NVR with OpenVINO running detection on 2 camera streams and recording 6 camera streams to the onboard SSD and moving older recordings to a USB-attached hard drive. For that purpose, it works well. However, I want to note that while each USB A and USB C port works just fine individually, plugging in more than 2 devices to any combination of the USB ports causes severe lag. This occurred both on the Windows 11 OS that it came with and on Linux Mint 22.3, which I replaced Windows with. For my purposes, which don't involve actually interacting much with the mini PC outside of initial setup, this isn't a dealbreaker. And on the rare occasions when I do need more than 2 ports, I am able to get around the issue by using a USB hub. However, for the $464 plus tax that I paid for this, it should really have functional ports. Read more
HDMI ports died within a few months. Seems to be a normal problem Read more
I'm using this MiniPC in my shop to manage my laser engraver and CNC router. All software runs well. The computer is silent though there is an internal fan. There's enough RAM and long term storage to make it a good replacement for the tower PC it replaces. Read more
