I have a few high-end guitars, and have pretty much used only two kinds of strings. Light-gauge phosphor bronze Elixir Nanoweb and D'Addario XS. Both are coated strings and sound very, very good. The Elixirs last a really long time, and the D'Addarios not as long, but a lot longer than non-coated strings. But they are expensive. Sometimes you can get a pack of three for around $45 (or $15 per set). So, when I found these for only about $10 I figured why not give them a try? I purchased one set and put them on my Taylor 214 Deluxe Koa. I have to say I am very impressed with how good they sound, especially when finger picking. I don't think they sound as good when strumming, though, but still not bad. They have been on there for about 2 months now, and still sound nice. They also seem easy on the fingers. It is hard to tell whether they are coated or not. If so, the coating is very thin. I may try these on my more upscale instruments, but for a lower or mid-level guitar, these are really excellent. Got these for my acoustic guitar 🎸 and they come in the right length and as many as they are supposed to come in, which is 6 strings, the thing is they are freshly new placed on my 🎸 and they are so strong and hard for them strings to stay tuned.
