The materials, quality, durability and design of this backpack makes it the perfect daily carry bag. The top pocket is perfect to use with the Bellroy Tech Kit Compact which holds all my cables and chargers. My Macbook Pro M1 fits easily in the laptop section which is top loading. I really like the top loading aspect of a bag. I had tried the Bellroy Classic Backpack 2nd Edition and while it's an excellent bag as well, I prefer the top loading laptop section of the Bellroy Transit Workpack. It also fits more internally. The straps are a little thin but comfortable. I love the Lunar color option. I really dont have any complaints about the bag. I suppose the only negatives I could say is the internal bottle pockets do eat up some of the internal space but it's not terrible and the straps could be a bit more padded but I get that this is really a daily carry backpack and it does that extremely well. I invested in three bags this month for different sorts of tasks this year. I first got a sling which (I know) looks like a glorified fanny pack but it’s really great to carry a few things when I’m cycling somewhere. It is comfortable, small, and easy to throw over your shoulder and go. My second bag is this 20 liter transit bag and this is my go to work bag. I have to be honest, when I first got the bag I did not like how hard it was. It’s off to describe but it’s sort of like a really stiff canvas feel (though it’s made out of some nylon kind of fabric). But, as I used it I can’t say it softened up, but I did come to appreciate the stiffness of the bag. I can easily put my 14 inch computer in the back tech sleeve and it feels protected. There is padding on the back that makes it extremely comfortable when wearing it, and the fact that the bag holds it shape even when empty is something I’ve grown to appreciate. The sturdiness of the fabric is definitely water resistant and it has a tremendous quality with the pockets, mesh and attention to details. I can’t say enough good things about it and plan on using it as my travel bag for flights as well. Read more
Generally, I love this backpack. I love the tech compartment, it nicely holds my laptop and some quick-access essentials. It also has a false bottom to the laptop pocket so it feels protected. The main compartment has plenty of space and I like the way it opens up so you can access everything. I can usually fit all the things I need for a workday including lunch plus clothes for the gym. The front pocket can fit my iPad mini which is convenient. The only thing about this bag that regularly gives me grief is it will not stand up on its own. It is constantly falling over whether it's full of stuff or not. The material is also not grippy, so if you lean it against something at a big angle it will still slide down, so you have to lean it against things just right. Or hang it up. Great bag for traveling as you can open the main compartment all the way to see everything you’re packing/unpacking. All of the pockets and compartments and zipper locations are intuitively thought out. The materials and hardware seem to be very high quality. The bag looks unique and I’ve gotten compliments on it. The only negatives I can think of; 1. It could possibly benefit from a waist or chest strap to offload your back and shoulders when packed heavy and 2. I will be travelling to Europe in 1 month for 3 months - I ordered 4 backpacks to review and test - We are doing no checked bags only a carry-on and a personal item. So I need a backpack that can hold alot and have tons of pockets - and well organized. This isn't it! It looks great and is well made. But, for the money it's not the backpack I choose. I'm not a fan or this backpack. The fabric is overly stiff. It seems durable I guess. The zippers are also stiff and feel cheap. It is fairly roomy for the size, with adequate pockets. I'll make use out of it, but for the price, I expected a much better product. I wouldn't buy this again. Read more
As a woman who works in IT and needs space for everyday needs this is the perfect backpack. I have a 16'' MacBook Pro and it fits perfectly in the main slot for the laptop. On top of that it is perfectly padded and had plenty of space if you wanted to slide in an iPad or tablet of some sort. It also has a pocket that I have used for sunglasses. The main compartment has plenty of space for additional items (a change of clothes, more tech things). I love that it unzips fully so you can pack it like a suitcase if you wanted to use it for a change of clothes. There is an additional front pocket for things that you want to keep secure, such as a keys or your wallet. The front pocket can also be used for things that need to be easily accessed. Also as someone who is 5'2 I tend to not buy backpacks at the fear of looking like turtle but this definitely does not feel bulky or too big. The material is easy to take care of as far as cleaning. The price is a little steep but I think for the quality you are getting a good product for the price. I am avid buy it once and use it forever with a bigger-ish price tag for something like a backpack. Overall, Bellroy will always be my go to brand for all my work bag needs. Read more
