This belt is pretty low priced, but actually on second consideration it stands above almost all the other ratchet belts I've seen. Most belts have the bottom latch, but over time I've found that a bottom latch can stick a lot. At first I didn't like the pull latch on this belt as much, but now I realize it is the superior mechanism, so I'm ordering a second one. I've come to like this belt's latch more. Most other belts give a thin piece of leather. This belt gives a thick piece of leather. Pros with thick leather is obviously it's stronger. Cons of thicker leather is the belt is noticably heavier, which can be slightly annoying. I put one of the buckles onto a thin belt and that works well for me. They are super easy to change with a flathead screwdriver, takes like 10 seconds. Latch can detach and swap to another belt. It takes a little bit more physical effort to move the locking latch, but that has not caused me any problems. Read more

My first ratchet belt. Three stars because, although the description says, "genuine leather", belt has no markings that says it is, nor does not smell like leather. I don't think it is leather. The belt finish has nice textured pattern and the buckle has nice brushed finish and seems sturdy. Need to trim belt to my waist size. Made in China. Read more
